i know mech nav alpha is an up to date mechlab sim, but it never has had dps, dph, dps/t comparisons like smurfys does.

Im specifically talking about this sheet here:

https://mwo.smurfy-net.de/equipment

as far as i know, nothing else like this exists out there, and i was wondering if this is being updated reguarly or if its deprecated? i know the huge patch that is coming later this month is going to invalidate most things on this list but im wondering if that will be updated in time, thanks.

if there are alternative reference sheets that are more modern can anyone share those? thanks

Smurfy just pulls from game files so I'd imagine it will eventually get updated.

MechDB 2.0 is being built at the moment with s number if improvements coming.

I think Kill2Blit (from MechDB) is currently working on adding new features to MechDB. This seems like a likely candidate.

it hasn't seen an update since mid 2019 so i doubt we'll get one now Posted Image

does anyone know where the data is stored in the files? i could probably write up something to grab the data, this type of metrics is very important for me personally

Certain things like impulse aren't obtainable through the client anyway, which is dumb

Shows how long it's been since I've used Smurfy lol...

They are just in the PAK game files which are in XML far as I'm aware. Right now testing Cauldron stuff Navid just gives us an updated PAK gamefile set and off we go. So I'd imagine you need to kinda know what to look at.

MechDB is all around better for me as levels of detail down to impluse just don't matter even at the high levels.

I'd wait for Mech DB 2.0 as I said. K2B is building a new site that hopefully goes live soon-ish. I'll harras him and find out when the ETA is.

im still confused, where on mechdb can you see the raw values of equipment outside of inspecting each one in the builder?

also i found the file;

MechWarrior Online\Game\GameGameData.pak\Libs\Items\Weapons\Weapons.xml

parsing this is gonna be a bit of a ***** though, is there any way i can see the raw values on mechdb? the whole reason i want this type of data is for trying to optimize builds _on_ mechdb, being able to determine most optimal damage for tonnage in a specific slot is really useful and how i've come up with some of my best builds, and it's been years since i've made any new builds but this upcoming changes are going to pretty heavily revolutionize build effeciency.

i'll make the tools myself if i have to i just dont want to be reinventing the wheel here

No way to see the raw values in MechDB 1.0.

MechDB 2.0 is ~3-4 weeks away before it'll be in the Alpha stage I've just been informed and should have most features from day 1 just a potential list of bugs.

i presume the 'features' you speak of include such data viewing?

I don't know.

Just that MechDB 2.0 contains more features than the current version.

I mean, it's XML. You can just write a simple script in Perl, Powershell or even PHP to pull out whichever variables you want extracted, then output them to CSV you can use.

Smurfy is the goto website for me when deciding on mechs weapons layout, as I do not have the numbers memorized in my head!

As someone who does not code, we sorely need an update for Smurfy Equipment section, especially for the Ghost Heat, and weapons damage/heat/range.

eg: How many IS Large Laser can you equip before Ghost Heat? (Answer: increased to max 4x after this 20-Apr-2021 PSR/Gulag/Cauldron patch).

eg: Can I also equip 4x IS ER-Large-Laser without Ghost Heat? (Answer: max 3x, same as before).

eg: How many IS Light-PPC can you equip before Ghost Heat? (Answer: max 3x, same as before).

eg: And what are the new damage/heat/minimum_range/optimal_range/maximum_range for above weapons?

Smurfy is the only website I know that gives visually easily accessible info on this.
(But Smurfy is quite weak on mech chasis quirks).
https://mwo.smurfy-net.de/equipment

MechDB is just the opposite--it's strong on mech chasis quirks, but the presentation is quite weak for visual presentation for Ghost Heat, and weapons damage/heat/range.
https://mech.nav-alpha.com

The Li Song MechLab, although it extracts data directly from MWO game data itself, is also quite for visual presentation for Ghost Heat, and weapons damage/heat/range.

***We need an updated Smurfy badly!!

Unfortunately Smurfy hasn't been updated since August of 2019. I mourn its passing, but with the recent weapon overhauls, it's no longer a useful reference.
