You have addressed my concern. Thank you. I think this is a nice compromise.

P.S.
I realize now you gave us the extra month or so to qualify for the pre-order so my "sight unseen" reasoning wasn't appropriate. But I think the backlog of historical Mech packs with no GSP argument still stands so, again, thanks for helping the pokemech players who have day jobs catch up.

For an example of a missed pun... "Stryke Through"... which could go with "Just once, get a Kill or KMDD on someone piloting any Variant [TDR-10SE, TDR-10SE(S), DRG-1G, DRG-1G(S)] from the Stryker Mech Pack"... It would definitely engage the rest of the Community to get out on the battlefields, even though it can be a slightly RNG issue on doing such a Challenge at all, but would allow two people to complete it on just one opponent at a time.

Although... I guess there are those that really hate being a target to "Stryke On" during stuff like this, huh?

I would suggest that you go Contact MWO Support (https://mwomercs.com/support) then, and be willing to give up a fair chunk of (C-Bills) to get them back so you can participate in the Event that has been provided. Talk about time to "Stryke A Deal" there...

Same!!! I figured, why not, I can use the C-bills and Mechbays, and I'm always going to run the (S) variants anyway, and now here we are. *cry*

I sold the non-(s) variants to save on mechbays- so I could buy more sale mechs- thinking I could buy them back from the store if need be...... Turns out I was a fool and now I can't take part in any about half of the new event stuff. T_T

...even at the Stryke-able expense of a bad pun or two. I've heard positive reports of MWO's Support Staff being willing to work with the players who keep to maintaining a calm mind and courtesy-filled attitude, and are willing to contact them in a quick and timely manner. Good luck, and I hope you can get your Mechs back soon in order to participate in the Event's stuff.

Heh... It's not worth selling them anyway. Otherwise, you're stuck having to spend out more for having two of a Variant in order to have two different builds fully prepared at any time.

I hadn't sold my regular ones yet because I hadn't gotten around to it, but a couple of my buddies did.
I don't want to seem ungrateful as its a nice event idea, but I think having it be restricted to mechs that a lot of people would have solved isn't great, especially since its announced after the pack dropped.

Next time perhaps announce the event simultaneously, or just don't make it different for regular and S variants?

seems like the easiest solution, but I have no idea how hard it is to edit an event once posted..

This kind of event seems like a great move for promoting this type of new mech release.
It's a good way to reward the community for spending our moneys to support PGI

This is the kind of event that NEEDS to be announced on the same day as the release...because I stripped my extra (non-S) mechs and sold them off for scrap just before going to bed, and then when I woke up in the morning, lo and behold, I needed them for an exclusive event.
Disappointed does not really cover it.
