Yes and other similar mechs like Assassins, locusts, fleas anything fast and pilots hide for 6-7 mins.. Mostly Skirmish matches need to go just use Assault maps
When you actually whittle down match time by removing walk time before engagement and then time spent chasing that last mech around.. that avg match time of 6 minutes 40 seconds shrinks drastically. Lately, I'm personally guilty of draggin matches on in my light ppc spider.
I still don't understand how people think TTK will not go down when you buff most of the weapons.. especially pinpoint weapons and duration buffs. It's like i'm living in bizarro world...

And if its not a SHC is something else that like a stealth mech.
Yep, after the shc giveaway that coincided with the Clan erppc patch debacle.. everyone owns one of these mechs outfitted with peeps. Admittedly it is a fun and effective build to use.. and even tho clan peeps were reverted back to where they were.. they are still too strong.

That's the thing. There wasn't. All this SHC business from what I can tell is just made up.
I have played some 30-40 games last few days. I've watched a further 15hrs of collective Streamers (Tier 1-5).
Not a single SHC in sight. I honestly think this "SHC" stuff is just a random statement to try and give meaning via misinformation - truly. I mean none of these guys have provided chronological screenshots to prove it, and we know they take them from prev posts. So yeah, I think it simply untrue.
I would be very happy to be proven wrong. Show me 10 screenshots at 5 of them long games with SHCs in them in chronological order. Alas I just don't think it will ever happen because this entire argument is simply made up.

Are people really complaining that when someone is doing their best to play on that instead they should run headlong into the enemy team and get it over with quicker? and yet you still vote for skirmish matches?
Because that's what your doing when you moan about 'dragging games out'. You're being that guy on the winning side of 2-12 stomp who chimes in with a 'gg' at the end of a match just to rub insult into injury.

Honestly its more annoying when you're on that guys team.
The enemy can at least entertain themselves playing whackamole while i just want my damn mech back.
It's fine if there's literally any chance of them pulling it off or doing something interesting but that virtually never happens.

It's mostly to appease the PSR as being in a losing stomp and seeing your team already losing 0-6 when you are just getting into position means you have to go extra careful or else drop in tiers..
I personally dont care and go suicide quickly but I can see people clearly doing this.

I'm all for squeezing out every last ounce of fight out of your mech.. as long as your fighting and not just running away.. but those 'extra' minutes spent chasing around that last mech should not be included as a variable in determining if TTK has gone up or down...
Now you would think we should keep things equal and compare apples to apples.. ie. compare match times pre and match times post cauldron patch. The problem is cauldron made soooo many sweeping changes that this is no longer possible.. (remember when I said with this patch we would lose everything we know about weapons (which are strong, weak, ideal, etc). Now we have to start from scratch... we have to determine if we are happy with TTK and match times as it stands now, without comparing it to anything else.
We have to be careful as well not to equate longer match times with higher TTK values. They're not the same thing.. Chasing that last light or medium should not be included in that calculation. A better determinant would be once 11 mechs fall, not all 12.
Look, here's the bottom line.. with the myriad of changes that were made, this game is still changing almost daily... it's too early to judge anything concretely just yet.. but common sense tells us that once people stop experimenting, the new meta will get solidified and TTK will inevitably go down, not up..

You should never suicide on purpose.. if anything hit that overide and suicide by going down fighting.. even if you have little chance of winning the match, going 1 v many still gives you a great chance to hone your skills: positioning, targeting prioritization, aiming, incoming damage spreading, etc...
When you're the last mech you should try to reposition somewhere that will allow you to target ID as many enemy mechs as you safely can.. identify any open component that might get you a kill.. and ignoring all other mechs, focus all your efforts on that one mech/component to secure that last kill (or two?).
If you are a brawler, hug walls and don't expose to long range, if you can't get to them without exposing, let them come to you.. if you are long range, USE that range and do not push into them..

Honestly, with a team that didnt give a f*** about the game (or calls done by whoever tried) why should I care, all I want is move to the next game as quickly as possible. And yeah with a t1-t3 opfor that's still mostly intact once they have you targeted it's game over quickly. Not a try hard and dont care about PSR. I just want fun in a team game.

Seems to be meta these days.
Some would say essential.
But I agree about not giving a , how you said it? F*******
Its a game not a second job, it's supposed to be fun.
Guess some people like working a second job while simultaneously playing a game like its their second job.
Others don't, apparently, they just want to play for fun with no work involved.
If only the two could be seperated.
Especially with groups of people working second jobs together and others playing for fun alone.
No playing by your self jokes please.

When they play the Superbowl or even a local game of Flootball, do they go home early because one teams winning?
I am just wondering?

Seems to me there are alot of other games with a much lower learning curve if you wanna play just for fun without actually improving your skill.. most of the fun in mwo is learning the skill of building a viable mech and mastering piloting it.. so again I don't understand why you would suicide instead of going down fighting.. all while improving your skill.

Are you suggesting I play another game because I wanna play for fun?
I could, but PGI could just make a queue for the play for fun people, it would be just like playing another game, you would not see me/us/them/they for fun people and PGI might make a sale which would not happen if I was playing another game.
I don't do games to work, lol.
Its a game so it is only virtual suicide, just like ejecting from mech
but without animations like FW mode
and people are different they have reasons to eject.
One reason to virtual suicide is to deny the other teams players the kill they didn't earn.
Other wise they would of killed the mech before it virtually suicide/ejected itself.
Want the kill earn it, kill faster next time.
And you can roleplay with it,
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo they cannot get the technology, Destroy mech to make technology unrecoverable.
See many reasons to virtual suicide.
Try harder
But I guess their are different perspexives, may even depend if you play as a 4 man or solo.
Could be like hey your w/l is already 7:1, so you ain't getting a kill from moi if I can help it.
etc etc etc
BTW: I improve my skill, I am so skillfull I can have postive w:l and drop PSR most games, so I can stay in T5 and have fun and not rise to T1 to work second job.
T5 is like solo que fun, T1 is like second job and with 4 mans around like four second jobs.
No thanks

Something like 20% armor bonus would not only increase time to kill but also make super high alpha builds less of a pain to fight against.
Especially since a lot of mechs just don't have the armor to do anything right now. Sometimes when I take my front loaded, armor spec Kraken Atlas I lose all my CT armor in something like 2 alphas from the enemy. Something that would just put down lower armor assaults. Not to mention things like the Timberwolf and Marauder that have such weak side torsos they get picked apart before they can do anything.
