applying some logic and speculation we get

from what I heard (I think this was what was said by Daeron on NGNG's cast on Thursday the 6th)
8 of the worst Mechs will get mobility buffs ??
PGI ran out of time getting the rest of them in this month ??

so you go to the Caldron's spread sheet and see the Mechs in Red (they are considered the worst) ??

https://www.mwocomp.com/patches.html

so the list is

24 Firestarter
E,S,A,H,K

CenturionAH, AL

Hunchback4G, GI (a hero Mech)
Hunchback 4H, 4J, 4P, 4SP
Hunchback IIC IIC
Hunchback IIC B, C
Hunchback IIC A
HunchbackIIC-DW

Night Gyr All
Timberwolf All

48 Atlas D, D-DC, RS, KR, K
Atlas S
Kodiak 3

so 8 out of this list

HTHs

I just wish Daeron had gone to the forums to post a two second update on mobility stating that PGI and the Cauldron agreed the original intended patch could cause more harm than good later on, noting full details in the form of a DevLog to follow. PGI deserved a lot of the negative feed back in the past but in the new era of transparency, much of that can be avoided by keeping us up to date on the changes.

I will add that the communication coming from the Cauldron has been amazing, whether it is announcements, responding to comments, or just listening. And of course, I salute all of the PGI team that are currently working on MWO as well as the Cauldron for the extra effort to do things the right way.

Guys, be patient!

As long as MWO is still trusting Gulag/Cauldron, and things are moving in the right direction, it is OK!

Realistically, big changes would be three steps forward, and one step backwards...
In fact, IMHO the Weapons Pass*** as done by PSR/Gulag/Cauldron went smoother than I had imagined!

The eight (8) mechs are probably one in each IS/Clan class, to be used as reference anchors for this entire MWO mobility tweak project:
IS: Assault (1), Heavy (1), Medium (1), and Light (1)
Clan: Assault (1), Heavy (1), Medium (1), and Light (1)

~These eight (8) mechs would be introduced as "reference" mobility mechs, with play testing & feedback be taken into account.
~Then these eight (8) mechs would then be tweaked again.
~Then other mechs' mobility be tweaked, in reference to these eight (8) reference mechs.

If this is true, this sounds sensible to me.
(I'm just guessing here--will await for MWO Dev Blog).

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Note:
***The Weapons pass also used "reference" weapons as anchor.
ie: The "meta" weapons were the reference anchor weapons for each class, and everything else is adjusted in reference to these "meta" weapons.
ie: This mobility tweak is using the same methodology for tweaking, same as the weapons pass.

Cats outta the bag. It is correct, only 8 mechs for now.

Unfortunately there have been some challenges to work through.

I believe a DevLog will cover it and explain a little more so just have to wait for that.

There are great reason(s) and I can totally understand them.

And it is not as if mobilty is dead peeps - just delayed.

Cauldron is still moving forward. We're still working with PGI (just had a 90m meeting). Changes are still coming etc etc.

DevLog will explain much more so lets not execute PGI too quickly here.

The ones on the Cauldron list that are red, are the ones getting buffed first.

Firestarter
Centurion
Hunchback
Hunchback IIC
Night Gyr
Timberwolf
Atlas
Kodiak

Oh jesus ******* christ, here we go. I know this isn't any of y'all's fault, and I hope there's a goddamn good reason for it.

It's a coding issue, it's taking PGI a lot longer than anticipated to change every mechs mobility, so they're doing the worst ones first, which is the listed 8.

Well, I thought it cannot be "coding" for mobility because Cauldron only focused on XML changes.

Just wait for the devlog, I'm not sure if I can say more cause I don't want to get cauldron members in trouble with PGI for speaking out of turn. I just know that it's a delay in implementation, not a "we don't want to do it"

Near enough.

There was an unexpected challenge between what Cauldron did and what PGI needs to do - to make it all happen. Turns out it isn't as basic as "It's just a XML", there are other factors at play.

Whether that gets discussed in the DevLog or not I don't know as it's not the simplest once you get into it.

No nothing like that. No need for conspiracies or witch hunts.

It's purely a limitation that needs to be worked around and has/is. Mark (PGI) let Navid know and he's sorted (sorting). Navid explained it somewhere in a bit more detail. Maybe MWO Comp discord, maybe mine, I can't remember - either way progress is on the forward March.

The Cauldron has a solid idea about how many things work, there are some not fully understood. The result is just unexpected speed humps and they are going to occur now and again with an undertaking of this size in a small time frame.

Everyone is doing their best. That's all they matters from my personal point if view.
