Huh. Weird. I've never used seismic since they locked it behind the sensor skill tree, which I never bother putting points in, but I remember I used to use it alot in the way back when. Corner checking with seismic only works if they're moving though.

It works wonders for the piranha or the flea sneaking up behind your firing line. The sneakers never open up on you at over 200m, which means you always get a blip before they fire. Hard turn and take those 15 micro lasers to the arm instead of the rear CT!

Literally the reason I started using it, even before the skill tree switch. I tend to get very focused on what I'm shooting at, but that little blip usually has enough movement to it that it will catch my attention. Depending on the turning speed of the 'mech I'm in, I can usually make them leave part of themselves behind. :)

Personally I'll skill up operations and armour, dependent on how often I overheat first, with mobility thrown in after if I need more torso speed for better twisting, and finally firepower once I've settled on a loadout.

It's extremely rare for me to see anyone standing perfectly still. Usually they're dancing back and forth a little bit, trying to scan the area and get that perfect leg angle, or that perfect amount of cover where they can shoot everything on both sides without hitting the wall, etc. Also, matches usually go fast enough that not many people stand still waiting around a corner unless they already peeked it and saw a lot of enemies. If a light 'mech is off flanking, anyone around that corner is probably pulling the same stunt.

That, and I run all of these with their stock weapon loadouts, and the stock Vapor Eagles always struck me as a little wonky.

What works in BattleTech rarely works in MechWarrior Online.

Less true for Clan 'mechs than for IS versions, and more often due to the heat sinks or a particular lack of armor than anything else.

Even some Clan 'Mech have mixed loadouts that would not be too effective in MWO.

Huntsman-Prime, Hellbringer-A, Timber Wolf-B, (lack of armor on the rest of the Hellbringers, though I do surprisingly well with the -B for some reason). Hence the couched phrases "less" true (vs "not" true) and "more often" vs "always". :)

It's two LPL's, four MPL's, and a Light TAG. So yes, it's going to be a very nice, straightforward stock build that honestly is similar to a lot of meta 'mechs already, anyway.

Honestly, the Dire Wolf isn't so bad, either. It's two ERPPCs, four MPL's, two ATM6's, and a "One-shot" Streak SRM4. My plan is to break the PPCs up into two weapon groups for "left/right", put the MPL's on my primary alt, put the ATM's on my LRM trigger, and put the streak under my pinky where it won't see much use, but is available if/when I need it.

Do we know if PGI will keep that Streak missile rack? There are no one-shot SRMs and LRMs in MWO.

They're doing the mod I expected: they're replacing a torso heat sink with an extra ton of ATM ammo, and a half-ton of streak ammo.

It is a good thing the PGI offered this Champion Timber Wolf as a Prize.

People can test it thoroughly and then decide, if they want to buy the Bounty Hunter's Madcat.

How many C-Bills did you get for the Timber Wolf?

TBR Resales for 4,790,979 CB without omnipods or equipment. Probably another 2 or 3 mil with everything included. I sold the first-ever Champion 'mech I got in an event. Cicada 2A(C). Kinda regretted it later, only because it's a 'mech you can only get with MC, so I'd have to spend real money if I ever wanted it back. I know I can get the CB version, but owning the (C) variants makes certain trial 'mech challenges easier.

Is there any difference in C-Bills between the sale of the standard Timber Wolf and the Champion Timber Wolf?

Nope. (At least not base. The equipment sell price will fluctuate depending on the equipment installed. The Omnipods will also always be the same).

Interesting. I would expect to get more C-Bills for the Champion version. Of course, I have no intention to sell the new Champion Timby - I like it.

Just got the mech reward. Admittedly it'll be a challenge but it'll be fun using something pretty iconic in the Mechwarrior days of old.
