I'm winning some matches, but I'm losing PSR. Because my teammates kill the enemy too fast
I got 0 damage in the last match...

Why should I be penalized because my teammates are too good? Can there be a rule that allows me to get team damage and have it counted as a bonus instead of a penalty?

Why would you expect to gain psr, when you contributed nothing to the game?

That's the problem when playing sniper builds - sometimes your match score is lower than the match score of your team mates who go in and who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, so to speak.

PSR movement is no punishment. Its purpose is to move you to a Tier which would be the most suitable for you: In this case, a Tier that contains players with a similar damage output as you usually produce, so you can enjoy balanced and fun games..

There's an Easter Egg in the game where after 4 team kills you start unlocking bonuses as you do more team damage, but you have to get 4 team kills first.

Does it have to be within a certain time limit or within a short time of one another like triple kill?

PSR is literally a tally of how you did--vs your other Teammates on your Team, and vs all 40-player on both sides.
Oh, and no team damage (and certainly no team kills!).

Your PSR goes up or down because of this.

Tip: Equip UAV, and activate it when main mob of enemies is close to you but off the radar.
Such scouting, counter-ECM, etc. can significantly contribute to your Match Score!

Anecdotal observations from playing: If you can get 1 kill, 8+ assists, 500+ damage dealt, you should do well in PSR in general. The more the better (more KMDD, Solo Kills, more Killing Blows also help quite a bit).

Playing a Light mech is a challenge to get 500+ damage if you're relatively new to MWO.
Try playing a Heavy mech instead! (Medium mechs gets punished for ingame mistakes, and Assaults maneuverability means you are toast if positioning is wrong).

Technically doable. If you fire lasers just at maximum range you can paint a target whilst doing negligible damage. It'll turn untouched armour yellow, without doing enough to break the a point of armour on that location. Most easily noticeable on 1 armoured limbs.

I would say you have to be areally really good to do that. That takes a lot of precision.

also you are not getting penalized you are getting rated for your performance against your team mates.
so if you did do no damage, that means you did not contribute, that means your team mates all performed way better than you, you mentioned that they killed the enemies too fast for you to get any shots in yourself, and the rating system is now trying to put you in a spot where you are not getting outperformed by your team mates anymore, creating a more fair match experience for you.

Losing PSR isn't a punishment. All those macho "l33t skillz" trappings on top of what is ultimately just a matchmaker tool are just window dressing lobbied for by LRM enthusiasts who thought a shiny badge would get people to stop laughing at them on the forums. (Hint: It didn't)

it's at least 6TKs where things get interesting. anybody can do 4TK, you gotta work harder than that.



*TK'ing your buddies isn't really a teamkill when you've won, right?

Better question: Why would he WANT to gain PSR? Higher tier usually just means more Nascaring, fewer viable builds, and faster deaths. The depths of the Steering Wheel Underhive™ is often more fun than the highest peaks of Mount Tryhard™.

0 DMG is not contributing in any way or form that is better than anyone of his 11 teammates did...

PSR is not a perfect system but in the games he's losing PSR he is likely not doing enough to make a difference in the match. If he's out there tickling four people for 100 damage combined and the rest of his teammates are smashing faces, well, he didn't really make much of a difference to the match outcome other than being a warm body, so to speak.

If you get 12 teamkills fast enough, you unlock the chance to get the Death Star achievement in that match...

That's hardly fair... you don't have to get a whole lot of damage to contribute...
