It was 2 minutes afair and it was said PGI looked into increasing that time bcs quite an amount of players can not reconnect in a 2 minutes timeframe - especially when you are kicked while loading bcs that is often not obvious and you may already been disconnected qutie a while b4 you realize it.
Then there are penalties for more things like excessive Teamdamage, other things, i guess Out of Bounds has become a penalty issue also meanwhile but dunno for sure.
Send an E-Mail to their Support and ask what can be done:

Additionally, remember that the server can't tell if it's your connection, loading time or you just deliberately pulled out the network cable - all it can tell is that your client stopped communicating.

- Wired or Wireless? If Wireless try wired connection from system to router.
- Reboot router and modem.
- Flush DNS procedure
- If router/gateway (combo router/modem) firmware may have been updated, esp if rental. A few players across several games reported such, which changed/increased the software security settings of their device
- Utilize a free VPN or two to test connectivity to the authentication server (log in/mechlab server) and/or actual regional combat servers. ISP may be having issues with their host file or there is a problematic router system your pathway is travelling through that is having issues. VPN has the potential to bypass said issue by rerouting around it, so instead of going from A-B-C-D-E-F, with a VPN it is A-B-K-L-E-F, where D would be the problematic router system.

be sure your in the same mech and look closely at the button, they are different colors.

it ought to be set up where when the game starts, it will detect if you have an active game and automatically load it on start up, bypassing the news popup and loading of all your mechs.

The Vocal Minority came out and screamed "NO NEED", this game is superfast, it takes 30 seconds to rejoin bladabladablahhh....
There are People in this game who with all might want to kill anyone off that does not belong to their "Sphere" of Avantgarde Gamers.

I rarely have connection issues, and there's nothing particularly special about my setup or net service... Or, at least, I don't think there is. So, if you're having recurring connection issues than the problem is most likely something in how your machine is connecting to the server. Maybe it's something in your setup? Maybe it's how your ISP is routing your connection? Maybe you double check and reset everything, find nothing unusual, but it seems to fix things anyway? Systems can get really complex, and their interactions aren't always predictable.
If I had better answers I'd give them. In the meantime, I heartily recommend rebooting/resetting everything, double checking your cords and cables, and maybe doing a trace route to test your ping and packet loss.

If it takes you more than 2 min to rejoin, chances are you're not going to rejoin the match fast enough to make a difference.
If your DC happened right at the start of the match, you might be able to rejoin before getting ganked by a passing enemy light, but you're already going to be horribly out of position and with your team engaged in a 11v12 fight - which means that unless the opfor is committing a series of spectacular fuckups, the snowball has already started against you.
If your DC happened in the middle of a firefight, then odds are you're not going to reconnect alive, no matter how fast you are.
Finally, the penalty isn't just to OMG PUNISH YOU.
Again, the server can't tell if your disconnection was a genuine connection hiccup, you ragequitting, or a deliberate attempt to sabotage your own team because you didn't like someone you've been queued with (and I've seen that happen a few times before).
Much as people who are too careless with friendly fire, flaky teammates are a handicap for their entire team. Delaying them from immediately requeueing serves a secondary purpose by reducing the number of matches such teammates are inflicted upon.

Also the game was still having issues MWO side with the loading times that also increased significantly with your Mech inventory.
While they finaly did some work on that problem MWO is still a slow loading game compared to everytihng else including other online games i experience and i never had so much trouble with increasing loading times due to a reasonable sized Mech stable.
Often a disconnect forces a restart of the game as whole and that simply takes that time and maybe the recent generation of CPUs has been able to do some good improvement in regard to that.
The broad number of computer gamers has Hardware that was at best middle class 4 to 5 years ago and is hopelessly outdated today but it is this people who make the big numbers - its not the up to date latest gen hardware gamer!

Dude, you just described my PC. The next question becomes, why do I have so few connection problems, yet others get nothing but? If the problem was on PGI's end, we'd ALL be having issues, but clearly we aren't. If the problem was older gaming rigs that were of middling quality to begin with, I'd be taking that hit, too, would I not?
I will grant one thing, I live in a fairly well populated area of the northeast US, so we have pretty robust internet infrastructure here. Now, if you're in bumf^&%-nowhere, and your local government and utility companies just don't give a crap about network infrastructure? Well, in that case I recommend hounding your local politicians and utility companies, because there is somewhere between jack and sh!& that PGI can do about it.
It sucks, but that's the way it is.

A few years ago I've ran into someone who was trying to play the game on an 8400 GS (ie: way below minimum requirements) and was unwilling to accept that the card was the problem - or even that it was below minimum spec (he was stuck on the idea that the amount of VRAM is the only parameter that matters... like, dude, that hasn't been the case since 2000s)

Thats not how it works in rural areas.
Small towns sold their owned utility networks, especially phone, to private nationwide companies decades ago. Local gov't and politicians have no say in it, unless you think senile Joe is going to do something about it.....
Anyway, I have Frontiernet. Go look up their facebook if you want a laugh. My rig is new as of last year, my SSD is actually a pair of M.2's, i boot up windows ten in less then 4 seconds. MWO still takes over a minute to log into, partly because Frontier is a complete joke, and partly because I have a gazillion mechs.
OP's problem happens to me occasionally also, mostly during prime time in my little town where Frontier oversold the network by about 40%. So I play other stuff, mostly, during primetime NA hours. Depends on the weather and time of year, I might hae some god weeknights I can play.
There is no other ISP option, besides satelite, because in rural towns the companies like Frontier have a monopoly on the physical lines. I pay 140 a month for a 4MB download and 128k upload. Yes, 128k. Actual DL speed is like 35% of the 4MB.
So I can do this, OR, get like HUGHSNET and have 700ping. On the plus side, I have one neighbor in the 3 mile radius from my country home. So I deal.
So, in a way I agree with OP, I wish PGI had a better way to monitor the discons. Myabe put a liit on them instead of first offence? like 4 an hour? I dunno, but I feel OP's frustration.
