I'm so "glad" that I sold both regular mech versions yesterday. I didn't think I'll need them ever since they're both omni mechs. Now I can't complete some of these

If you contact support you can buy back the standard variants.

Thanks for the event! But was it really necessary to make the non-S variants necessary again? That went badly last time. I know we warned people, but its still annoying to make people loadout mechs to only play for a couple matches.

Next time, can't we just have it be S variants only, or have the objectives be completable with either type?

Seems in poor taste to create an event around mech's we can only get by spending real money on the game.

I don't get why it is supposed to be poor taste though. It's PGI's way for giving a little extra to the people who purchased their product and actually a good move business-wise.
You can get a bunch of free stuff with he current beach party event. Free mech, lootbags, all the stuff. Complaining now smells pretty much like entitlement.

Been playing them, and must say, NOICE!

The Bloodhound is an excellent whap whap machine... and with some careful planning a 2x ERPPC, 2x ERLL & 2x LRM15 Dire can do some damage... still tweeking the 2x LPL, 2x TAG & 2x ATM12 version...

If memory serves me the Warden pack was immediately slotted into Solaris but I see neither of these mechs in any divisions...

PGI have done events with most packs and four-mech releases, same deal with these events requiring both the standard and special, its just that these releases are so infrequent that people tend to forget.

Wow, those are nice rewards....am very pleased here with them and the mechs....I found them to be quite powerful so far.
The addition of ECM enhanced their survivability considderably compared to their non ECM variants...at least for me. A jump capable Dire with big longrange guns and ECM can get surprisingly fast to places where he is not expected and seldomly seen.
For the lols I'm using one of the dires as light bate with ECM AP and 7 Streaks as well as some LPLs. You can stand back look lonely and when the occasional Piranha or what not sees the fat whale all alone he can't resist and gets eaten...
