I finished grinding my new Warhammer 6R

I fluctuate between T4 and T3 (which really sucks)

only 1 top DMG 760


I tried a number of builds all seemed under preforming for a 70 ton Mech
it was hard to consistently get over 400 dmg

costs 2,400,000 C-bills

I grind all my new mechs, this gives me a reason to play MWO so a big thanks to Matt for the events

the velocity buff for PPCs means it's a synced-up 40-point alpha with full damage up to around 900 meters, and a pretty good peeking ability

Yeahbut… there are enough good builds for a 6R that having more than one is a good idea. This one will be my 4th!

the whammy-6r is a wonderful mech, with tons of build-options.
if it is underperforming for you, maybe change your build. there's plenty

and you can never have enough of those. I think I got ~6-9 between two accounts for FW.
and yes, that's 6Rs only

and if i was still playing faction play or if i only had 6 mechs to my name (i have 372) i might care. but in qp i can only use one 6r at a time, and i have plenty of alternates. aside from certain c and s variants, i have all the whammies and many of those variants are strongly viable.

i'm running mine as follows and it seems to be doing rather well for me (when i can get a good match that is, had a hell of a losing streak yesterday, just one bad team after another and few bad choices by me here and there)

WHM-6R (1 MRM-40 (5t ammo), 3 L-PPC, 1 AMS (only1/2t ammo), running an LE-335 and 4 DHS. has Endo and LFF. (stripped both arms and 20pts of armor from each leg)

i like the Warhammer enough, its not my favorite heavy by far but its a good well rounded mech. (i have 3 all from free giveaways, the 6R, 4L, and 6D(C)). of them all the 6R has the most potential for diversity in builds. i though about running 2 LBX/10s and some MLs but just not quite enough damage for the heat management considering you have to strip the arms to make it work.

I am trying 2 LPLs and 4 ermls and 2 HMGs

I think I tried most you guys builds except the MRM build
after playing for awhile and going back down to T4 4 yet again I said ok PGI you can keep the paint job lol

Be done tomorrow, 2UAC10 + 4ML worked fine so long as I had decent sight lines. So far out of 13 matches, above 1 in W/L and K/D even with only 1 armor on each arm.

That's basically a medium mech build trapped in the body of a heavy.

You need moar punch, specially through the use of proper ballistics. If you want a laser Hammer grab the WHM-6D or 9D, and if you want to do missiles grab the 7S. The 6R's main schtick is to use ballistics (usually bigger ones) and some secondary energies as supplements.

I dislike a lot of the meta builds, mainly because I dislike a Whammy that mounts nothing in its arms, or only a piddly Medium Laser. The enduring image of a Whammy is that of a walking gunboat, dishing out devastating barrages of fire from its PPC's and exploiting holes with missiles and lasers.
Still, the meta must I guess. Ill have to find a build that is good enough to overlook the butchery.

I know where you're coming from, but you just have to set apart "Lore, TT and how things should be" and "MWO, and how things are here". Took me a while for that too when I started out; I was shocked to see an srm-bomb-griffin back then for starters (only to realise later that it's bloody good at it, or was at that time).

just try to view mwo & battletech as two different games that just share the aesthetics, optimise your builds for mwo, and you'll have a better time ingame.
and remember to meet up with friends, throw a few dice on hexfield-maps and celebrate how things are in the offline-world. beers entirely optional.
