No, I do not have one.

But completing the first phase of the event was really easy and I do not think that I will have difficulties with the second phase.

I fulfilled that "Headshot" requirement just a few hours into the challenge - and without Flamers.

There's always salt, I called it early. I also haven't seen an unusual amount of flamers- or virtually any to be honest. Events bring out the LRMs more than flamers.

I did get a headshot too, which is not terribly common for me.

Big shout out to the guy running an ERPPC/Light gauss Marauder 2 that got two headshot kills in a row, one of them on a jumping Mist Lynx. It was a new acount, but keep an eye out for the guy in the leaderboards soon with precision like that.

Stepped rewards would have been a better approach to the Match Score requirement rather than just hitting the 15k, although, over the period of the event will be straight forward enough to get to.


I've seen exactly ONE 'mech with Flamers during this event, and it was a Firestarter. He wasn't too happy about eating my dual Gauss though and promptly left me alone. In that same match, I got two of his teammates with headshots.

Dual Gauss, dual HPPCs, triple PPCs with tight convergence - the rest is a matter of learning your cockpits and aiming well.

True, even the toughest cockpit in the game - the cockpit of a flea - can at best withstand 43 pts of damage.

Agreed... I've been quipping about having a TAG-related thing in Events for some time now. All we would need is to ask for Teamwork by players to help land Lock-On Damage just a few times by using a TAG-Equipped Mech to enable quick hits by a Teammate firing to support them. Stack this post as one more on that pile! :mellow:

And heck, why haven't we added a Game Mechanic for the NARC-Linked Damage already? Thanks to things like AMS & ECM (and I.S. Stealth Armor) being in the game, it's bloody hard to get a NARC Beacon landed and have it stay effective! Those people should get paid at least something for making it more possible for their Teammates to land Lock-On Damage instead of having to wait for an all-or-nothing result, even if it's only 80% of what a TAG-using player gets! :(

Question is that, as small as the Light Cockpit Window happens to be, are they really using all of that Armor Allocation which they can have access to? :P

We do have such indicator.

You can see the headshot on the enemy 'Mech's scan.

I know the feeling. It would make me a lot less hesitant to open Loot Bags on the fly if they gave WarHorns and Hanging Items for the Cockpit a whole lot more often, instead of sudden chunks of Active Premium Time that forces you to reschedule your life around it in order to use any. Either that, or the Active Premium Time should instead be made something that starts out Banked and has to be manually activated. :mellow:

I think what they meant was being able to hear something in audio, or perhaps seeing something that appears down lower in the display where it shows text for stuff like "Flanking", "Killing Blow", "TAG Kill", "NARC Kill", "Hit And Run", "Kill Most Damage Dealt", and so on. Or it so happens that PGI could even do the same thing that some other games provide, and put a different chat message on the left side when someone lands a Headshot-type Kill instead of the normal "X has killed Y" messaging. I'm rather sure on this one that we'll never see a Headshot indicator pop up over the destroyed Enemy Mech on the field... but maybe that's just me... ^_^
