Hi again, Matt... I hope things are going well for you. I realized only a while after
my previous post where I rather clumsily tried to point out something about this Event to you that I had really failed to properly indicate what it was before that caused my concern. I even ended up doing a massive 'facedesk' when I realized how badly that I blew it. Because of my failure to describe things properly, and therefore the confusion which I can only guess that it unnecessarily caused you, you have my complete apologies... Sorry!!!
Also, it's very worth the note that I'm another on the heap of those that are thankful for these Loot Bag Events (
and other Events too) that you and any others (
whom sometimes I really wish I knew the names of for publicly thanking) who construct these bring forth. It has been a worthwhile journey getting from the start to having this Event's goals completed in the last couple of weeks, and it definitely caused me (
and likely many others out there) to have to change things about our methods of gameplay in order to progress forward. Those of you making these Events recently have my thanks in general, and I'll definitely be looking forward to upcoming Events in the future.
The only additional positive suggestion-type feedback that I have for a future Event is to add an extra Challenge that calls in a Match for a TAG to be used, as to try encouraging improved Teamwork during battle. (
Perhaps something like asking for at least one instance of enabling TAG-Assisted Damage upon an Enemy Mech during battle? I would personally be happy to get challenged with being asked for five instances in a reasonable time period of making that happen, and you would not find me eating my words later!!!) It would also have the helpful effect of slowing down Direct-Fire Time-To-Kill during any Match because people would have to use an Energy Slot for having the TAG equipped on their Mech in battle. That would ultimately create longer Match Times that people could possibly find more enjoyment in, which I think would likely end up helping the PGI financial bottom line, since we know people pitch Real $$$ (
if they're safely able) into things they are interested in. (
I know that MWO can only survive if PGI continues to, so I am trying with this idea to help make both survive!)
This finally brings me to what I find concerning with the "Trick-Or-Treat 7" Event itself... I was looking at the Loot Bag Redemption Details page, and saw that it shows this...
Trick-Or-Treat 7 page said:
Ends: Nov 8th 4:00:00 PM (PST) / Nov 9th 12:00:00 AM (UTC)
...and then also further down shows this...
Trick-Or-Treat 7 page said:
The Loot Bags will disappear on Nov 14th 4:00:00 PM (PST) / Nov 15th 12:00:00 AM (UTC)!
...and was left thoroughly confused by this. Previous editions of the Trick-Or-Treat Event (
and basically any other Loot Bag Event we have had as far back as I can remember) have always provided people with 14 Days afterward for opening their Loot Bags on that page in a timely manner that would not cause any problems/inconvenience for most users. Since it happens that I try to avoid assuming anything while fighting my mind trying to run off and metaphorically 'grasp at straws' repeatedly, it leaves me left to ask... May we please be enlightened if possible as to why it is that this year, we're only being given a hauntingly short 6 Days to handle getting the Loot Bags unpacked afterward? Has something gone wrong behind the scenes at PGI that happens to be worth putting a light on and speaking of, or perhaps even something which can not currently be spoken about at this time?
