As for the hellbringer getting armor buffs (especially in the arms, that most builds just strip down anyways), that's just weird. The Hellbringer is still widely considered to be one of the best mechs in the game overall; why the hell buff it? You know players are just going to use the up-armored arms to strip even more armor out of them for their laser-vomit peeking meta build; seriously WTF are we making that thing better for?

I guess that those buffed arms should serve as incentive for the players to put them on their 'Mechs, so we can finally see something else than Hellbringer chest-mounted laser boats:
  • buffed RA on "A" configuration - one ballistic hardpoint
  • buffed RA/LA on "B" configuration - one ballistic hardpoint each
  • buffed RA/LA on "F" configuration - combined laser/ballistic hardpoint each
  • buffed RA/LA on "Prime" configuration - one energy hardpoint each
  • buffed RA on "P" configuration - one laser hardpoint
  • note the "Virago": The RA with two missile hardpoints will get a significant armor buff, so the players have some reason why to use it, the LA with a pair of laser hardpoints will get a small armor buff

So IS gets nerfed armor to Jaegermechs,

View PostClay Endfield, on 10 December 2021 - 11:22 PM, said:

I kinda questioned the loss of Armor/Structure quirks too on the Jaeger, given that it's shaped like a catcher's mitt.

The JagerMech will lose its CT/RT/LT armor buffs, but it will keep its CT/LT/RT/LL/RL structure quirks.

The JagerMech will lose its LA/RA +10 structure buffs that will tun into the LA/RA +14 armor buffs.

No Engine Heat Sinks for that new Night Gyr? Figured I'd have seen that in the bug fixes. I scrolled pretty quick, but I didn't think I saw that chassis mentioned anywhere.

Also, you had me with the new map until the part of the video that showed the Domination antenna underneath that platform... Conquest makes sense to be in a covered area. An HPG antenna? That's theoretically looking into space? Shouldn't that have an unobstructed view of the sky? Its elevation doesn't matter for gameplay, so I'm surprised to see that kind of placement.

Do we have any evidence that the guy making maps has ever, you know, actually played the game? Because nothing I've seen from any of his "improvements" would suggest such.

Still no love for the Victor-9K? It's such a sad little 80 tonner...

All the IS 80. 85 tonners... Battlemaster needs a head hit box reduction or significant buff to head HP. Zeus pfffttttt.... Victors meh compared to clan 80-85 ton...

call it the "buff what we say is meta patch"

Probably because they're actual improvements that're removing people's ability to Nascar or be idiot turrets, Khal. Just because people are used to do those on current maps does not make that map "good." Quite the opposite, in fact. A good map should allow you to have multiple avenues of attack and tactics, and favor no one build type when used right. Which is why those other maps have been changed, so as to NOT incentivize Metatards/Turrets and actually have to force Pilots to think on their feet.

Just a note... the faction play map is called HellEbore Springs.

Could I suggest fixing the little spelling mistake and name the map Hellebore Outpost in the game too when it comes out.

Question to the folks in The Cauldron about one small part of the Patch that's incoming... Why has the "0.5 Heat" increase on the Clan ER Large Laser become necessary? I have not been seeing excessive use of that Weapon in particular, as compared to the Clan Heavy Large Laser during various battles. This could possibly push Clan ERLLs a tad far back into lessened overall use. :o

(Did not intend the Double Post here... Just realized that there was one separate thought, and found it for responding to way afterward... Sorry!!!)

I look forward to the new map being full of little oddities and QC issues.

But I also look forward to the new map.

Hey... As long as they get a New "Support & Feedback > Map Feedback > Hellebore Outpost" Board up and running for which to Report any issues with the incoming "Hellebore Outpost" Map which we will soon have to play, then it so happens that I will be stoked for reporting issues with that Map in order to make sure everything gets put right. :D

Of course, there are still some issues over on "HPG Manifold" which have not been fixed yet... At least I've started the Thread and put useful constructive details there about the Mobility Issues in order to help Francois with being able to repair those nasty little problems.

[Minor Edit by the Post's Author because of an idiotic word flow issue... All fixed now!!!]

Not to bad mouth the new Devs work because personally i think hes doing a damn good job. That said this new map looks like a freaking nightmare for slow Assaults.. They will have a tough time against anything fast in those canyons..

Also could the Cauldron take a look at the Crabs (medium mechs) They used to be quite sturdy and considered a pretty good medium but with the power creep they seem to be falling apart under the strain these days.. All i ask is take a look at them and see if they need something.

Earlier cERL took a few buffs at once.

The feeling is overall cERL is performing a little over/above because of the aggressive buffs earlier. The tune is minor and then see how it plays out.

Right now you can alpha 4 cERL and that needs to have a little more penalty for example.

No doubt Navid can comment further if needed.

New skins and changing hardpoints for existing chassis isn't new content, and new map in years? An whose fault is that? And a realy lazy one, a meatloaf map with leftovers, this game has the best player base I have ever seen, the way they put up with this lack of regard by the developers that only use this game has a cash cow for MW5 mercenaries.

32 Strucktur 50 Tonnen Mech

HBR 84 Armor
42 Strucktur 65 Tonnen Mech

Nice to finally see the rest of the Quickdraws getting armor, but I really don't think the quirks for the 4G and 4H are enough to make them competitive.

Same, like most bad mechs the quirk package has been underdelivered for some reason. The Centurion was great, and I think we were all hoping that was a sign of things to come, but then things got real timid.

Quirks are not something you add for the hell of it.
They are added to make a mech able to perform and compete with what is considered to be the strongest mechs in a weight class or to give them a unique role or capability to make them relevant.

Centurion before quirks was one of the worst chassis in the game by far. And the quirks it received is proportional to how bad it was and how much compensation it needed to perform well.

Yes and my point is many of the poor chassis that have been "fixed" have missed the mark afaict. The Centurion, MLX, INC, DWF,AS7 are some of the success stories while others like the Adder, Cougar, Raven, Vindicator, Hellfire, and Hatamoto are far from competitive in their class. Probably there are others, but those are the ones I've played.

Meanwhile the Stalker goes from good to great, and the Direwolf gets some huge range buff from out of nowhere.
