By the way, the Rivals Pack Event is time limited; ending early-January 2022.

And the Event's additional 600 MC, and 2x +CBills bonus cockpit items are worth getting

I just got it, and I love it then again I think its my first time using rotaries, but within the first three games I've already done nearly 50% of the Roughneck objectives, it's such a fun mech, or it might be because I've only been playing clan mechs since I returned.

Roughneck Bolt hero mech is like a mini-Blood-Asp for the IS side
Love peeking over ridge with it; its top weapons are higher than your cockpit !

I popped 2 MrM 30's and 4 HMG in for the event and it was a fun mech to play
JJ's would have made it better though

Congrats! I haven't had a game that good with it yet, but I am really liking it kitted out with dual UAC/10's. Load up on armor and structure skills and it really hangs tough!
I went with x2 Rotary 5s and x3 Medium Lasers, loads of Dakka

I've gone for 2 LBX10s and two medium pulses, works pretty well, but there's a bunch of other builds I do want to try at some point.

So far I'm doing ok running the Bolt with quad LB2X and a few backup weapons. Ammo's a bit tight, though.

What amazes me is how much talk there is of exposing your mech to use arm weapons is horrible, and I'm like, are you guys seriously still ridge-humping? Don't get me wrong, it's a valid way to present a smaller target and protect your legs, but at the same time it totally ignores the whole idea of corner peeking (which wide mechs in general are just plain bad at). And either way, if you are that obsessed with not being shot, maybe this is the wrong game for you? Aggression wins games. Hiding and poking, not so much. (I also understand the hidey-pokey is a big side effect of quick play teams not being cohesive enough for players to trust each other for backup, so an over abundance of caution comes with the territory.)
As for the Bolt, there are a lot of viable options for this mech. While I don't expect it will rule the game or replace anyone's favorite ride, it's a solid mech.
