Introducing a new replacement for AWS-8Q, for using Snub-Nose-PPC:

New: Battlemaster BLR-1GHE, Hero Mech, 85ton
-10% Cooldown
-10% Heat
+1 HSL Snub-Nose-PPC
+20% Velocity for PPC Family
+20% Targeting Info Gathering
~Higher Torso 4x Snub-Nose-PPC placment for superior peeking
~Somewhat faster acceleration/deceleration

Old: Awesome AWS-8Q, standard variant, 80ton
-10% Heat
-5% PPC Family Heat
+1 HSL PPC Family
+20% Velocity for PPC Family

Anyone else having a great time with BLR-1GHE, as an AWS-8Q replacement for Snub-Nose-PPC? Posted Image

I've been using a Highlander 733P for this, mostly because I have a great many Bagpipe war horns. Posted Image

It trades the 10% cooldown of the BLR for 10% extra range, and the mech both jumps and is super tanky. it right-side peeks instead of ridge-line peeks.

The HGN-733P can also tank 4 PPCs if you want a ranged build out of it too.

The thing that makes the 8Q so attractive is the fact that it's a cbill mech, so you don't need to spend MC on it (although you do if you need to buy mech bays.) The 8Q can also carry six PPCs (or four and some lasers or something)

I have a video on it.

It's not a great replacement. Hellslinger is still too squishy for SNPPC, and the Awesome 8Q just gets better quirks for it overall.

This can be alleviated though if they gave the CT more HP, and gave the variant 10% range, otherwise it suffers horribly as a close range second line mech.

great vid.

I was testing it yesterday in a 4xsnub, 2xmrm10 config on the tourmaline-testing-gauntlet and imo it's quite 'snappy', has those high-mounts and is very agile & fast, with 0 skillpoints on it (right from the shop).
but yeah:

testing grounds don't shoot back; I suppose it melts quite easy and you have to be extra careful with it. being in closerange doesn't help that, either.

I'm not sold on it, but the mech does look interesting (now).
