Ammo Use Order.

I think it would be awesome if ammo was consumed in the opposite order of which it was added.
Logically, we tend to cram ammo in the safest places first, and then add it to less safe places once we are out of room.
Currently, it goes:
HD -> CT -> RT -> LT -> LA -> RA -> LL -> RL
Did you know that?
When I build a 'Mech, I always keep the above in mind.
Still, I think it would be much more intuitive if the order it was consumed in was related to the order in which it was placed.
Alternatively, have a little up/down arrow for each ton of ammo equipped, an allow us to move the ammo up to first use/ 2nd use, etc.
Its quite bizarre that some 'Mechs allow for mirror image builds to be created, yet one ends up being quite superior to the other due to the fixed ammo use order.

From the Dev.'s.
There stated order does not match your listing of draw order.
This from another post:
Hey Siri,
Whether we get selectable ammo draw is up to design and their priorities for getting stuff into the game.
I can't really answer for them.
Ammo draw ordering is fixed for all mechs and independent of faction.
It's presently:
Center Torso -> Right Torso -> Left Torso -> Right Arm -> Left Arm -> Left Leg -> Right Leg -> Head.
No exceptions are intended, so if the draw ordering is any different from that it's a bug.

Another reason why we should be able to set it ourselves - to be rid of the confusion.

There is nothing that would prevent you from keeping the ammo use in the same order as it is now, if you specifically want it that way...

They probably do not use ammo weapons and like to get critical hits on ammo lol
This is not a huge issue to me anymore with clan CASE but it is still an issue for IS and that is no reason not to add this feature.

Can not be verified on testing grounds, becuse the in cockpit ammo readout doesn't update ammo ammounts/ function, it just shows ammo allocation. The only way to verifiy is to keep tarck of the cockpit ammo read out during public/ private match.
But it would be nice to know for sure where is my ammo being used from 1st.

thats how to find out for sure.
Some `Mechs actually have functional displays for their ammo in the cockpit so that wouldnt be needed. Would just need to remember which `Mechs have functional MFDs.

IS would help avoid ammo explosions since some mechs use certain parts as sheilds more readily than other parts... so they would want to have the ammo used from there first.
Clans too might want ammo used from the shield side first... It wont save you from an ammo explosion related death (probably) but it may keep one of your weapons ammo supply intact a little longer.
It would help the clans because you might be able to avoid some situations where the ammo is destroyed but the weapon remains.
BTW - i conducted a test in testing grounds using a commando with a NARC + 2 tons of ammo.
1 ton was in the head.
1 ton was in an unarmored arm.
I used up half the ammo, and then dropped a strike on myself.
It destroyed the arm, but it did not affect my ammo count.
Seems that the arm was used before the head.
I believe that the head is indeed last.
This seems to be the greatest point of confusion.

Thank you for the Clarification.I was misinformed the whole time.
Head last - I have to reconsider using that location as storage.I was under the assumption it was used first.

Having an ammo feed running from my Left Leg up to my RIght Arm in say, a Dragon running at 100kph doesn't sound at all safe. Or plausible.

Within the Lore and technical specs there are controls for the Pilot to;
- Move ammo from one location to another.
- Dump partial or full ammo from any location.
- Completely dump all ammo with the loss of the weapon it's designated for.
In-game we even have the single screen that displays where and how much ammo is located at each location. It doesn't do us much good now, as it's not something we can alter or change. But does show were it's at.
- I would like a 'Dump ammo' selection for the Pilot if the weapon is destroyed, an automated message asking if the Pilot wants to 'Dump' the ammo affected by that weapon. (it will cost you at the end of the match to 'reload' that dumped ammo, but you won't 'get blod up' by it.!)
Lots of weapons and Ammo controls we don't have yet, but could be made available by PGI.

It would be a great way to give advanced players another level of gameplay without unduly hurting the newly arrived.

RA <-> LA -> RT <-> LT -> RL <-> LL -> CT -> H
Except for lights, they tend to lose their legs earlier so the order should be different for them.

NO
because you forget that ammo are EXPLOSIVES... so you have to discharge the most VITAL parts for first... you have to end quickly the ammo in the torsos to prevent any explosion at the engine by every minimal crit damage.
