I would like to submit some suggestions to the cauldron, but I am unable to find it... Is there a place that we can set as the cauldron to have people in the community submit their ideas?

You can post them right here on the forum.

A number of Cauldron members read the forums regularly and take workable ideas that also fit into PGIs aims back to the group to discuss.

That said this is certainly not the right subforum...

OK, so, why not make a specific forum for the Cauldron to use and acknowledge that a suggestion has been read (not a discussion forum as regards to the validity or appropriateness of a suggestion) meaning people are at least aware that they have been noticed?

By the way, in any kind of mathematical model "a number" can mean "zero" which can be the feeling people get who are willing to post something and never get recognition for taking the time to do so; in fact, many responses from the cauldron cohort are the first to criticise suggestions.

PGI fouled up their customer relations by ignoring the players, you could try not to follow their same footsteps . . .

PGI control the forums, not Cauldron.

This topic certainly does belong into General Discussion and was moved accordingly.

Most people that write/read forums, know Ash is one of the Cauldron... I don't think you can find a thread that suggest something and doesn't have him commenting it at some point.

IMO Recognition has to be earned by posting something that is not absolutely stupid, which has been theme lately.
Like remove PSR or bring back Escort mode Posted Image. Neither of those would make game or gaming experience better for anyone.
Absolutely good ideas that can make this game better (with resources that are available) should be recognized.

As said earlier they do read and reply stuff unlike PGI did back in the day.

A lot of people take crtique or picking apart the ideas as criticism. It is actually scrutinisation and all suggestions need to be picked apart if they, at face value, are not clear or are very flawed at various levels.

Cauldon has a fair idea of what PGI can/cannot do and also what is workable within balance and other aspects. Unfortunately when people put forward an idea that is not workable or some that are completely off-base there really isn't anywhere to go with it... A bad idea is bad.

Just look at "lights OP" as a great example. Lights by no metric that exists are OP and any such claim is wrong, yet the claim runs rife almost weekly and Cauldron are asked to "fix" it. Can't fix something that ain't broken.

That would take a change to the animation script to fix and thats not an xml edit. Remember that even with the new owners the game is on maintenance mode and anything more complex than text edits isn't going to happen. Be happy they are still funding new mechs and maps.

The helpful/useful members of the Cauldron typically only show up to for discussions in the patch notes thread. Other than that one thread per month you can usually only find Ash and he spend more time insulting people, implying that anyone who doesn't agree with him is an idiot, and generally trying to drive people away from the game than actually doing anything helpful.

If you want to contact the Cauldron, I would wait until the monthly patch thread. You can find usually find at least a couple of the helpful members then.

I don't think asking for people to prove their arguments with stats, data, useable information ad nauseum is insulting people. The vast majority of the time users cannot provide even basic information to support their arguments despite matter-of-fact statements. That could run the border of insulting perhaps, it is certainly tiresome.

I do find it amusing though that a select few people chase me around the forums, reddits and other places with the only predominate aim to try and cancel me. Always gives me a chuckle.

When making suggestions. Remember that the cauldron can only propose/submit changes related to weapons stats and mech stats (and even in those, there's quite a few things that cannot be changed).

I see many people with suggestions that simply cannot be done currently.

I would like to see some armor quirks on standard crabs. They used to be quite good but now after the quirk passes and damage creep they've fallen to the wayside.

Crab quirks coming in 2 weeks actually. I'm keen to give them a run knowing what is coming.

Feb patch actually has a solid amount of mechs getting their passes.

Any plans for the spider line? Some generic ppc/large laser family quirks would be nice since they are hardpoint limited especially on the ecm variant and are better suited to sniping.

Many of people's ideas are very poorly thought out. Most of them are just emotional reactions to something that happened to them in-game. The "Lights are OP" crowd fits into this mold.

Or often their idea is based on a personal anecdote, backed up with exaggerated damage claims and whatnot. I'm sure it's tiresome for Cauldron members who hear it all. Over and over.

At the first sign of criticism, many idea-posters get all hostile. As if they've never had one of their ideas exposed to criticism or something. It's weird.

Ash does a good job, many people just aren't very realistic about their own ideas.

Is the Catapult one of them? I am dying to see what you guys do with the ButterBee.

Every mech is getting a pass of some description. I can't recall if the spider has been touched without checking (bit short on time right now). Also some need a lot more than others Posted Image

That said just because a mech gets a pass, does not mean it won't be revisited again for further iteration down the track. Be that further buffs or if too strong, like the SNV was, a bit adjustment back down.

So watch the patch note threads. Play the mechs that get touched in said patch, provide the feedback in that patch note thread if you feel the need.

I haven't been playing for 2 years. Is there a comprehensive list which mechs got already re-worked?
