MECH WARRIOR ONLINE

March 2022 Patch Notes

Patch Date and Time - March 22nd 2022 @ 10AM – 1PM PDT
Version Number: 1.4.252.0
Size: 233 MB
Please note that due to compression differences the Steam patch size may be larger than the standalone client patch size.

Greetings MechWarriors!

This month's update includes the new Bloodname Booster Pack 'mechs, the Kitfox KFX-P and the Summoner SMN-G. Check out the screenshots and quirks below! We also have a brand new Quick Play map from Francois called Emerald Vale, based on the Faction Play map Emerald Taiga. This patch also includes the 8th Quirk Pass, some Quirk adjustments, and more.

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out our MWO Road Map here, and look out for a Dev Vlog coming very soon!

As with everything, these updates are subject to further balance changes in the future, especially as more variables are brought into the equation with future updates and changes.

So get out there and do the science, and get us your feedback for future iterations!

And now, we hope you enjoy the patch.

-The MechWarrior Online Team

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_398.zip

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

We will get some backstory for the new map, as it used to be?

I always liked Emerald Tiaga and thought it'd be a great QP map if adapted.

Map visuals are great!

New Mech models look great as always, like the way the SMN-G side torsos look!

Excited to see the rest of the new maps this year, PLEASE do Vitric Forge biome, and PLEASE include the big blue star.

Francois is already a week or so into designing the next new Quick Play map, based on Vitric Forge. I'll be sure to let him know to keep the big blue star Posted Image

Glad to see a new map going live for QP!

A number of the new mech quirk changes look interesting. (Also is there any chance that S Grades will ever become available for mechs like the C1 catapult for people who have started playing in the last 9 years?)

Regarding the new mechs in the bloodname pack...
The Summoner is looking pretty good! The CT Energy slot gives it a fun option for new builds.

The Kitfox quirks in very sharp contrast are a huge disappointment for a single simple reason..... The CT offers NOTHING vs the Kitfox available in the Clan Light Bundle that has been for sale for months. Any single item from the SO8 could have easily put onto the CT as an innate bonus and it would have made it a great new option to use for the Kitfox. This is the shadowcat from the pred pack all over again.

I only want to know if the trees on this new map are breakable assets or are they ghost trees?

They're breakable.
(and yes, I'm trying to get around to improving the Hellbore Outpost trees)

One primary question springs to my mind here, and I very seriously do not post this in any negative tone...

When will any of the Maps changed and/or added by Francois to MWO include the Incursion Mode as being an option to play again? :o

Maybe it happens that I am just one of the crazy people, or maybe I'm just too sane (Or loaded full of some strange form of "Common Sense"™ perhaps?) by comparison. All that I can tell you is that I enjoy having the Destruction-Style Objective combined with the option of Fuel Cell Running too, and the Roles in battle which that creates to be able to play. It depresses me somewhat that having more Maps which do not have the Incursion Mode as an option continues to further take away the chance to play it. :(

Heck... I know this is a crazy ask, but... Is there any chance we can have Francois get on the Forums to communicate with, and In-Game to battle alongside and/or against? I think some fun things could happen if they were more public-facing, provided the rest of the Community can keep themselves in-check for a little while. :)

~D. V. "I guess the lack of Incursion Mode playability got to me by Patch 1.4.252.0 here?" Devnull
