The thought of a stealth Catapault A1 running around is a little terrifying, though it would be hot as hell. Might make a fun MRM poke machine.

I wasn't paying attention a while ago and neither did my team and then suddenly that exact Catapult and his ECM Mad Dog buddy appeared behind us...

Looking forward to more updates on the Crusader, in-game model, cockpit (please don't make it a janky cockpit, think "Star League era coolness") and screen shots.

I hope they can share a screenshot from inside the cockpit this time, because it looks a lot like the Marauder IIC cockpit from the outside and that's not a good thing so I really really REALLY hope I am wrong about that part! :( ;)

I am sorry to say I am not too interested in this, gonna wait and see what the quirks are for them. This is 40 for the base, the special variant is the base, and there only 2 interesting variants in total. This needed to be your perfect pitch. It needed to show you learned from a year of mech packs. It appears you didn't. You increased the overall prices, still haven't added a discount for buying them all. Granted you get MC but that is the early adopters bonus.

I understand eve my simple implementation would require dev time but we need new weapons. May e find a way to modify current weapons to act like different weapons. Same models, just different stats. That is what this mech needed, new weapons and variants that can use it. At the end of the day it is a heavy IS missile mech...nothing special. This is why old mechs started selling less and less.

Only deciding on the standard mechs and maybe the Hero, not the special. Getting the full package (the special standard) if it were a discount of $60 then it would justify purchasing the whole lot. You buy in bulk you get a discount or you pick and choose and lose the discount. Just saying. Happy to see new mechs once again.

Extra 14 kph before tweak should account for the lack of ECM and JJs

While I'm very happy to see a new mech, the pricing feels a little over the top. Everything in the pack combined shouldn't be more than $40, not just 5 mechs with no c-bill boosted variant. I was really hoping we had moved away from the newer mech pack pricing after all the booster and platinum packs.

Even so the price would be more acceptable to me if the c-bill release wasn't all the way in December. I know the packs need to have value and all but I feel like something closer to the very old mech release model would be better. Example: Pack comes out, 1 week later Hero comes out for MC, 2-3 weeks later c-bill release. Giving anyone who can't shell out $40-$70 no new mech content for the whole rest of the year just doesn't feel like the best way to approach this.

I feel like it also sends kind of a bad message to new players. If I logged in for the first time and saw NEW CRUSADER PACK, saw the price, and then saw I couldn't buy it with c-bills until December, my opinion of the game would plummet before I'd even played my first match. I'd probably think it was a weird fomo pay to win cash grab.

I was just hoping to see a bit more progress in seeing a less ****** feeling monetization model, especially after the value of the boosters, rivals, and platinum packs. People should want to spend money because they love the mech and want to support the game, not because they won't be able to use the mech for 1/2 a year.

Regardless I'm very happy we are getting new content, and excited about the possible future of MWO and MW5. I hope we continue to get more and more new and exciting content.

If we are being honest and comparing this mech to other IS 65 toners the crusader has got way better hard points that pretty much all the thunderbolts definitely than the rough necks and most of the catapults. Overall as far as the mech chassis as a whole it’s definitely the best IS 65 toner just based on hard points alone

To get some rough idea about the cockpit of Crusader, you can check the cockpits of Marauder, Warhammer or Champion. These 'Mechs are from the same era and they were used by the same Star League Defence Force. Posted Image

We’ll see… it can get up to 65 kph so that should be enough.

For brawling being faster helps a lot so you don’t get shredded from range. I think both will be somewhat equal in performance.

If we being honest I’m probably going to use the 3R for 1 ultra ac 10 and 4 srm 6 or something like that

So... what's the next mech now? Posted Image haha

I liked the suggestion for the Stone Rhino. Clanners got to get something (and this classic mech deserves to be in the game).

After that? Long Bow for IS? even better: a triple bug pack (Wasp + Stinger + Valkyrie)! (since selling them individually would be harder)

PS: I would really like to see the Fire Moth in MWO someday. That would be a crazy mech to pilot.

To be a bit more specific, being forced to pay a minimum of $40 for only standard variants is just kind of lousy. With the boosters, platinum and rivals pack they are providing better value than going and buying hero mechs with MC. I would never spend MC on a standard variant, it's just a waste of money. The new variants in the boosters also release after a 3 month period for c-bills, not 7 months later like the crusader. (To be honest I thought the 3 month gap was still a bit much, but that's significantly better than 7.)

It looks like the armour value on the mechs are too low. I put the equipment, weapons, everything into mwo.nav-alpha.com with custom, and there was over 6 tons free with the 200 armour.

No. 192 points of armor is the original BattleTech value. Use 384 points of armor to get the MechWarrior Online value. Posted Image

You will end up with 65 tons - tested. Posted Image

I really don’t know anyone who would have payed 20$ to get the three mediocre ones and not dropped the extra money to get the good ones. But as far as the cbill boosts go. I guesssssss it’s better value but cbill boosting on mechs is really not that important at all. If you really need cbills have one good hero mech and just play that….. it’s that easy. And if you want to talk about like being able to get a boost on multiple mechs. For my taste the cockpit items cover that giving me boosts on other mecks I love so I’m square there. All I know is the recent DLC packs have been giving you two mechs for 20$ (4 mechs I guess, you get the same one twice which is barley anything) I didn’t think twice about buying 5 unique mechs for 40$. If one edit should be made the extra special. Should only be ten….. but whatever.

This pricing for is was a bit of a surprise.

If you compare the older equivalent, ie the Dervish the breakdown was:

$20 Standard which included:
3 mechs
3 mech bays
30 days Premium Time
1 hanging cockpit item
1 standing cockpit item
1 warhorn
Badge
Title

$40 Collector (or a $20 to upgrade Standard to Collector) which included:
All of the above (Unless you are doing an upgrade, then its just the following)
1 Special Variant
1 Mech bay
30 days premium (added to the previous 30 days for 60 total)
2 hanging cockpit item (In addition to the one above for 3 total)
2 standing cockpit item (In addition to the one above for 3 total)
2 warhorn (In addition to the one above for 3 total)
Badge (In addition to the one above for 2 total)
Title (In addition to the one above for 2 total)

Reinforcements ($15)
2 mechs
2 bays

Hero ($15)
1 Hero Mech
1 Mech Bay

Ultimate Pack (All of the above in 1 purchase for $70)

This time around the Crusader

No Standard Pack

Collector Pack ($40 and includes)
5 mechs
5 mech bays
5x warhorns
30 days premium time
6.5M CBills

Special Addon ($15)
1 special mech
1 mechbay
Special title
Special badge
Special Badge Decal
1.1m Cbills
100 GSP
1 Warhorn
1 Hanging 5% Cbill mod

Hero Addon ($15)
1 Hero mech
1 mechbay
Hero title
Hero badge
Hero Badge Decal
1.1m Cbills
100 GSP
1 Warhorn
1 Hanging 5% Cbill mod

Ultimate Pack ($70 includes all the above for crusader)

Additionally, there are early adopter incentives:
5x hanging 5% Cbill mods
500 GSP
6.5M Cbills
3000 MC

If someone was planning on getting the Ultimate pack, then there really isn't much change, other than the notable shrinkage from 60 premium days to 30 days.
If someone just wanted to get the old collector pack, they are essentially now forced to buy the Reinforcement pack rolled in as well. $40+15 (Collector + reinforcement) vs now, $40+$15 (*Collector* + Special)
The complete lack of a basic $20 buy in, combined with the halving of the premium days, really makes this whole purchase exceptionally less appealing.

its to expensive to me. if it was something like 50$, i could probably find them.
we have just got a lot of good pack for 20$.... 4 mech where 2 of them was special mech and with a lot of extra stuff.

here 5 mech for 40$ and no where the same stuff. plus 30$ extra for a hero and a special mech.

Is it just me, or is the Crael 6 tons underweight? Looking at the loadout on the pre-order page vs modifying the canon Crael in Megamek, dropping 10 tons of melee equipment for 4 tons worth of MGs doesn't quite add up and PGI isn't adding anything else that the canon Crael doesn't already have that would make up that 6 ton difference.
