Or maybe not. Based upon you saying that, however, I'd guess you're within 5 years of my age (46). That said, I love Led Zeppelin; they broke up when I was 4, and I didn't start listening to them until my teen years. My love of Zeppelin doesn't really date me. There's also a lot of great 80s music, and the internet makes it easier for younger folks to access older music. In the span of a few hours one can go down one hell of a rabbit hole of music on YouTube, Spotify, etc.

So there's not music during the actual match? Hmm. It's been years since I've had it on.
Maybe I turned it off to clear comms between FP matches, I dunno.

Faction Warfare is the more likely possibility, as there is constant music while setting up to head for a Match unless it has been turned off. I unfortunately do also remember that Faction Warfare background music being the kind of stuff which can drone a person to sleep, which caused me to end up with an outright hate of it. :(

Generally speaking, it happens that I tend to leave MWO's Music turned down to 30% or less if I'm in a group with external communications enabled, at least when I used to do that. (Not going to pollute this thread with a track down that lane!!!)

~D. V. "Yeah it was probably CW/FW/FP which caused your killing MWO's Music entirely." Devnull

Of course this is a bit more traditional along the lines of a sabbath concert. Posted Image

if you asked me if i thought baby metal was metal, id probibly say no. but then i saw them perform with rob halford, so i guess that promotes them to the type of metal that we dont talk about. which is still orders of magnitude better than styx.

Say what you want about the gimmick of having three cute girls as the front men but good lord the musicians are top notch.

I have/had 3 or 4 Mechwarrior online play lists up on youtube
I could watch music vids between rounds or just listen while I am playing
sadly MWO sends me into a depression when I play these days

my next stop
lets, just have some fun (no MWO overlords telling you get good, no quirks, no company nerfing C-bills, no--you win one match the other side wins 3 matches mechanics)

with the crap that makes the radio these days, im not surprised. i didnt really get into music until the mid 90s, and when i did it was '80s thrash. the only thing on the radio was grunge. that probibly had something to do with it.

I listen to music daily, the only time I tune in to an actual radio station is for the news. When I'm in the mood for something new I usually go poking around YouTube or Pandora and see what their algorithms send me.

Just keep in mind that you sound like every previous generation that hated the current generation's taste in music.

i remember when mp3s were new. this was actually before napster so you had to get your files from ftp sites, at dial up speeds. it could take an hour to download one song. thats how one makes the transition from megadeth to deicide.

no true metalhead can stop at just one band or one style of metal.

you know megadeth is the only big four thrash band with vocal talent. i had to go through the death/black metal thing before i realized that. i can give up good vocals for good musicianship though.

1. true. imHo it doesn't even have to be metal. SO much good stuff out there - would be a shame to let it go to waste Posted Image
2. you won't find (many) more interesting riffs though; Dave is one of the best riff 'builders' out there.
or to (losely) quote Scott Ian "his riffs are more interesting to listen to than most solos of any guitarrists out there".
still true for the last album (Dystopia) Posted Image

Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries. You don't even have to remix it, it was just GOOD.

Hell yeah. Second that.

I get the same vibes by running synthwave mixes as background music. The Midnight (band name)'s album "Nocturne" is also a similar feel and goes great with MWO imho

I've always been like that, my brother claims i'm tone deaf. He might be true, music to me sounds like terrible noises.
