Never though I ll enjoy play with AC20.
You know, its not good thing. You cant shoot far and fast. Lights eat your meat.
When I tried Hunchback HNB-4G with 2 ac2, the aggressive flashing near cockpit made it unable to play. So I had to use ac20.
Its not so bad in most fights.
Thats all guys.

the 4G is a knife-fighter all right, with a 20% cooldown for the AC/20. If you want a bit more range, check out the Grid Iron hero mech, with a 30% cooldown on a Gauss Rifle. (including both light and heavy gauss)

Forgot to say.
AC20 has a great chance to kill or destroy comp without great damage... Just try.

I learned that most of the long range fire encounters are happening because you fire back at them.
Your goal is to be the first to hit the target. Once you're being shot they expect you to dance.

I was playing my HBK 4G last week and managed to kill a PIR in the CT. He must have been damaged already but it looked like his armor was yellow. Felt pretty good to take one down. Usually can't hit the things (I'm not the best shot, admittedly).

With over 8k matches in my HBK-4G(F) i learnt my way around over the years, so here is my take.
The most important requirement for piloting an HBK-4G(F) is that you have to have a very high accuracy with the AC20, especially when it comes to encounters against light mechs.
You need to hit a light within your first two shots at least once. Smart light pilots will probably disengage because they neither want to stay and find out if you are that good of a shot or just got lucky, nor do they want to risk their mech getting wrecked by another (un)lucky hit. Overconfident and/or bold light pilots will try to 1v1 you anyway, and that early hit increases your chances to win, even if you only hit with your lasers afterwards.

Marksmanship and velocity skill upgrades will make Lights not want to fight you. Like Abbot says, once you land a hit on a Light, he will not want to trade shots with you any more.

It all depends on positioning and play style. Not an easy mech to be successful in. Not Meta lol

They have mega buffed this mech since the original post. It's a menace now.

It can be - but mostly people just shoot at the hunch, unless you're able to engage alongside teammates - in the high-alpha poke meta, it's very hit and miss.

Solo dropping is hit or miss in any mech no matter how strong it is due to team quality etc. But in a coordinated lance vs pubs? These things are a complete menace. Just talking about quick play of course this isn't meta enough for comp.
