Wanting to get a clan assault to use as a laser boat, but now i am unsure of which to get.

I was originally thinking on getting a gargoyle with 6 CMPL and 10 CEML, but now i am torn between this one or a Executor with 2 CLPL, 6 CESL and whatever CEML i can cran in it, or a supernova B with 2 CLPL and 6 CMPL and lots and lots of heatsinks.

Which one do you guys suggest? a fast close range dps brawler (GAR or EXE), or a slower burst damage laser boar (SNV)?

As a gargoyle user, I'm biased towards the gar. I primarily use it a medium laser boat these days, but also have configs that use srms(On my kinwolf) or a laserfist of ER-mediums with 3 MPLS on the other side, this config is reasonably cool and able to poke at range. Large lasers eat a lot of the free tonnage of the gar so I don't really recommend them, it's doable but you'll probably run hot or find yourself mostly tapping the larges at range and not getting to use the smalls as much as you'd like.

and since you mentioned brawling it's worth mentioning the GAR can run a laserfist of ERSML or ERML's with whatever your preferred flavor of AC or LB20 is in the other arm. It's a nasty cqc bruiser at that point. You have to make the AC shots count but the ammo quirk in the arm combined with the extended mag skills gives you enough ammo make your presence felt.

I really don't think the Supernova is a good energy boat...and I own two. it's workable but i mostly use it with quad ER-LL's alternating pokes at range because wide mech is very wide and will often hit terrain or something because the arm hardpoints are so far out to the sides.I often found it needing to awkardly reposition to make shots I would take naturally on other mechs.

I haven't run a EXE, I keep thinking about getting one but it just seems like a gar that's dependant on MASC for speed and still limited in tonnage/builds.It's a solid facehugger but getting in close enough without being picked apart first seems to be a problem for it.At least that's what I've observed.

if you decide on a punchier assault i'd go for the Dire or Blood Asp over the Supernova. It's an ok sniper but I wouldn't want to be in mid-close range with the supernova it's just so unweildly and the fov is awful when things run up on you. I legitimately could track small mechs better in a dire than in a Supernova. I still use it occasionally as a sniper or the SNV-A as a missile boat but I don't feel it has much place as a front line mech.Maybe other people have better experiences using it.

Pure Clan Assault mechs laser vomit boats...
You can check for mechs under [Table_View] in MechDB 2.0 as below, and view its mech quirks:
https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechs

Marauder IIC MAD-IIC: stupidly crazy laser vomit output on level (horizontal) ground!
~2xLPL + 6xERML + LE375 for DPS; its LT/RT/CT lasers are almost cockpit level!
~Some folks fire 2 volleys consecutively (2x large lasers of your choice + ERML), followed by (1x Large Laser of your choice). More Alpha and less DPS.

Dire Wolf DWF-C (with ECM) or DWF-Prime (SO8 gives total -15% Energy Heat, -5% Laser duration) for ERLL sniping! For SO8 all energy hardpoints in arms...

Blood Asp BAS-D (+5% Heat Dissipation CT) or BAS-RA (+5% Range CT) omnimech laser delete mech; for ECM use BAS-A or BAS-B.

Supernova SNV-1 (+1 HSL ERLL): all 8x energy hardpoints in its arms though

Executioner EXE-A (SO8 bonus of +1 HSL LPL, -10% Energy Heat): MASC + JJ also! Gotta play your keyboard like the piano though... (Warning: tall mech).
3xLPL + 4xERML + MASC + JJ, courtesy of Youdu Udonta

Gargoyle with its power laser arms as Dekallis already mentioned above...Gargoyle is the fastest Clan Assault around, so no need for MASC like the Executioner... (Warning: tall mech)

Worthy Mention: Night Gyr (75ton) is Clan Heavy, but can also (barely) double as Laser vomit delete mech!
NTG-Prime (+5% Heat Dissipation), or NTG-D (1x energy hardpoint in CT). JJ. Optional ECM.

As mentioned, one of the best pure mid range vomit assaults is the MAD-2C, specifically with either the 2LPL+6ERML or 3LPL+6ERML loadouts. Former is a hair more sustained DPS (insignificantly so as its 1 more DHS), and it moves very fast for its class, or the latter being still faster then most assaults, 28 DHS, and like 80 damage per exposure (about the highest you can get on ANY mech without being utterly shafted in a sustained shootout). I personally feel that 2LPL+6ERML feels wimpy on assaults as you can just do more (and a few extra KPH arent worth it imo when the whole point of assaults is to fight and not nascar the whole time). It can also do brawl with a very large engine, and 9MPLs, albeit im not a fan of this build as it gets way too many games that you just cant make the range work in your favor while the LPLs are going to start being useful around 900m with maxed skills.

Alternatively ive had alot of success running the BAS-A in a hybrid gauss vomit config, 1GR+2LPL+5ERML. Its got alpha, its got sustain, 15 sniper grade PPFLD for early game harassment (or when you are cookin and not getting shot at), and respectable mobility with 1 JJ for the ability to sorta poptart over low obstacles with your high mounts and gauss. Ofc its squishy, but it can still trade against most anything if need be (you are still better off trying to gte free dmg against unawares though). I also have had some luck with a dakka vomit brawler (2UAC10+6MPL), but i know you wanted las vomit and never said anything about dakka as half your firepower. Still, that build (originally done on a deathstrike but the BAS has ECM so is imo better at sneaking into range) can and will wreck half a team if you dont get rushed by 3+ targets at the same time and can isolate things (or just rely on doing an insane 80 damage per exposure within 300m or so).

Aside from that, ibve played the EXE and it works if you want to brawl (or run 3 PPC), but i personally havent been a fan of the pure vomit setups on that because you rely on super wide arms (which doesnt matter in brawling much, but sucks at anything resembling peeking). Its not bad and ive seen people do well with 3LPL+4ERML, but to me it just feels lackluster even when you consider the LPLs have a HSL quirk. Alpha is less then some of the others, and it just suffers too much from low mounted arms to peek effectively (unless your into poptarting with PPCs in it which removed that disadvantage).

Other mechs are mostly super niche (GAR is decent but exclusively for fast brawling builds as it just cant do much else), SNV is crap with anything but 6ERLL (and even then id rather run that on something without wide and low arms), DWF doesnt have the slots to run enuff DHS for pure vomit (you can run gauss vom but its still not all that impressive with the hitbox issues), WHK is pretty much straight quad PPC (ive never seen anone running vomit on one and im pretty sure it lacks the hardpoints required), and the only other worthy mention of the gauss vomit deathstrike which is not bad with the 92 damage gauss vomit, just a bit of a 1 trick pony and extremely focused most of the times i play mine. As fun as 92 damage is, its usually less effective then a 80 damage mech without the wide arms and tendency to attract way too much fire (most people will focus you once they realize what build you have in a deathstrike as noone wants to eat over 80 damage in a single exposure).

Thanks for your referral!
Just to be clear, panzer1b suggest MAD-IIC: 3xLPL + 6xERML + XL355 as below

This works well if you like hill sniping. That JJ will help out loads and the light active probe lets you get paperdolls at long range so you know what to snipe and ecm will keep you from being instantly noticed when you pop out of cover.
