Try emailing technical@mwomercs.com

I've played this game for 7 years and can only remember a few connection issues in total and it always affect many people at once. If you say you're using steam, have you tried the stand-alone client here? https://mwomercs.com/game/download

I got this with WiFi in first week several times, so changed to line. Though the signal, etc was OK.

it has been zero days since my last dns change.

honestly this really isnt a problem with pgi so much as with dns providers which have been derpy as of late. thing is dns is only needed to change a domain name into an address, i dont see why they just dont use their own internal addresses in their code and completely bypass dns name resolution all together. i mean you do know where your servers are? right?

It could be your phone line which tends to be less reliable than broadband. Try running packet loss test such as https://packetlosstest.com/ whenever you experience a connection error. If you see any packet loss, that can cause the errors you're seeing. If it is MWO coding or MWO servers, you will see a lot more people with the errors at the same time as you. For example we had issues recently with everyone experiencing lag and server issues, but now it's been cleared up. If your issues are persisting it could be a local issue. You could also try running the repair tool in case your patch was corrupted.

After years of no problems, I get this now too. Stand alone install, one when I click the launcher and one in game at the sign in window. Nothing has changed on my end. Hard wired, firewall exceptions in place, router same as always. No joy from support.

Hi Dasgtnut27,

Thanks for getting in touch. Your youtube video is private, I am not able to watch it at the moment.
Could you please also send me a screenshot of any error messages you may get while experiencing disconnects?

When you get a moment, please run through any or all of the troubleshooting steps outlined below and let us know if the issue persists.

Try to determine if any Firewall or Anti-Virus software might be preventing a stable connection:
- Temporarily disable your Windows Firewall or any 3rd-party firewall software and attempt a connection
- Temporarily disable your anti-virus software and attempt a connection
- If you are able to establish a connection after disabling any of the above software, you will need to add a profile or filter for MWO in that software to allow a stable connection to go through

Try to determine if your router or modem setup might be contributing to the issue:
- If you are connecting to your modem or router through Wi-Fi, please attempt a direct connection with an Ethernet cable and see if the issue persists
- Try opening the following ports in your router and see if the issue persists:
TCP 45461
TCP 45464

Release and Renew your IP and flush your DNS:
1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run window.
2. Type cmd and hit Enter.
3. In the command prompt window, type:
4. ipconfig /release and hit Enter.
5. ipconfig /renew and hit Enter.
6. ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter.

Change your DNS settings:
Using the information provided either by OpenDNS (http://208.69.38.205/) or Google (https://developers.g...-dns/docs/using) please apply either of these DNS settings to your system.
Using either of those custom DNS providers is generally preferred over the standard DNS servers your ISP might currently use.

If you still cannot connect after running through these steps, please provide the results of a trace route, ping test, and DirectX Diagnostic, along with a copy of the Omicron.log located in your \MechWarrior Online root folder.

Trace Route:
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type CMD
- Click OK
- In the Command Prompt, type: tracert 192.99.109.129
- Take a screenshot of the results and attach it to your reply.
- In the Command Prompt, type: tracert 192.99.40.103
- Take a screenshot of the results and attach it to your reply.

Ping test:
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type CMD
- Click OK
- In the Command Prompt, type: ping -n 100 192.99.109.129
- Take a screenshot of the results attach it to your reply.
- In the Command Prompt, type: ping -n 192.99.40.103
- Take a screenshot of the results and attach it to your reply.

How to obtain and attach a DxDiag
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type DxDiag
- Click Save All Information. If prompted about WHQL drivers, click no.
- If the Save All Information button is not present, simply click on Run (32/64 bit)DxDiag. The Save All Information button will appear after the diagnostic.
- Log file location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\PatcherLogs
- Attach the file to this support ticket. Please do not copy/paste the contents in the body of your message as it will get truncated.

And now I get: Caught an exception trying to do version check. This is most likely due to an internet connectivity problem. Since this application requires an internet connection, it will now exit.
The remote name could not be resolved; patcher.mwomercs.com

Anyone got an idea of what is going on?

Or is it just pgi incompetence?

Edit: 5 minutes later and the game works as if nothing happened...

OpenDNS and Cloudflare still pop up errors can't use the others cause they are American and the ping time is astronomical...

I had at least 5 disconnects

I finally gave up and did not try to log on again

Changing DNS does flup all, first half of the day I cannot play the game because of network errors, (hint: there is no network error) and the second half of the day the game works as normal. Once again changing DNS does nothing to fix this.

Well, I dunno exactly what issue everyone else is having, but I can testify to my own. My own connection to the internet dies – actually dies, as in I temporarily lose connection to everything – from time to time when I try to log into the game. It doesn't do this consistently, and the Windows troubleshooter has been no help, so until the last week or so ago, my only option was to restart my PC to resolve this problem. I'm on a wired connection, by the way.

I since installed new drivers and a new application from my network adapter's manufacturer, so running hardware tests through that application seems to solve whatever issue without a reboot, but MWO still frequently knocks me off the net when I log into it. No other game I play with any regularity seems to do this. It's been an issue for... I think a month? Two?
