I thought the change was nonsense until your post. That makes perfect sense, the idea of losing lock as something bolts past a rock for a second with immediately having to reacquire is nuts. The slight change works.

I think the overall change is good. For LRMs to really work well you need to have eyes on the target, yours, a UAV, or a friend. That makes sense. Going back to the grand old table top days LRMs still needed you to see the target. I know this isn't tabletop but we can see the rationale. The missiles themselves are not smart, simply following the target locks of mechs and UAVs. Having more nodes maintaining locks indicates an investment in smarter missiles. Having nodes breaking locks represents basic ECM to defeat the onboard missile guidance, not at the level of a true ECM unit.

I am fine with the current state of missile play with only ONE issue... Streak SRMs should be able to be fired without locks just like LRMs and ATMs. There is ZERO REASON for this not to be so. I shy away from Streak Boats right now because an ECM or worse yet, STEALTH mech can be all but untouchable.

Still not good enough really. Give us Blue Shield and Ballistic Reinforced Armour, then maybe we can start talking about parity.

ATM need to have a good MRM style launch option with decent velocity. It should be more usble like MRM
