It's been back for a while. It almost never gets the vote. On the rare ocassion it does- it's still just deathmatch, except you then have the minute or two wait until someone shoots the base at the end.

The idea is there, but the execution in QP doesn't really work. At least it's better than escort. That was no fun at all.

O ye, escort... Concept of Escort is awesome imho.
I liked how the teams were dynamically guided to battle in the less used areas of the map, just by dropping the Escort Atlas there.

I guess randomizing circle location in Domination could do the same.

Incursion would be a perfect mode for a 2 or 3 mech Drop deck mode.

As is, once the lights or any mech doing the Powercell capping are dead, it plays out just like skirmish, assault, or Derpination.

It would take some discussion about tonnage of the deck, but other than that the only real obstacle is getting a dedicated mode just for incursion.

Like the month past, when they ran the 8v8 dropdeck event, which was the most fun and enjoyable experience I've had in MWO for a long time.

It 100% is not, and is actually worse with dropdecks.

It might be slightly more okay with an assault only restriction, but that probably makes it even easier to sneak into the base with 1-2 people and flatten it.


Incursion is a terrible game mode.
