I figured this would happen when you cracked down on groups.
I guess I was right.
That's what happens when you listen to the perpetual whining of the malcontents.

Cracked down on groups how?

LOL.
Obviously I dreamed PGI determined that the only way to stop the incessant crying about occasional stomps was to "perfectly" balance QP "so there wouldn't be any more stomps" by making it so that ONLY 2 groups of 2 or one group of (3 or 4) would be the max for QP...
I'm so glad that didn't happen.

I’m curious as well because last time I check a 12 man can only run, at best, 12 50 ton mechs while a 4 man can run all heavies. Granted I will miss running a 12 man mpl crab group but it required so much coordination that I normally will do 4 man groups over the 12. If anything they made the overall group experience better.

Somewhere on YouTube there's footage of an all Centurion team from the days of 8v8. The only loss taken by Team Cent was due to friendly fire. Coordination and aggression often turns a tonnage disparity into a meaningless detail.

Coordination - actual coordination, i.e. "two or more combatants acting in unison to amplify their mutual efforts" - requires training. REAL training, not "play the game and see" training. It requires teams to decide what coordinated maneuvers they're going to undertake and then to actively practice making those maneuvers. Getting twelve average Puglandians together in a Discord chat channel and siccing them on the enemy results in no improvement whatsoever in coordination, and may in fact have a negative effect on coordination as the players all BS on comms instead of fight.
Communication can certainly improve, but only if the players in question know how to make calls and actually communicate in combat. "LITTLE S@#$'S ON MY *** SOMEBODY GET RID OF HIM!" or "OH CRAP THEY'RE ALL OVER THERE!" is not useful communication, and to this day I see all too much of that sort of garbage in Puglandia. Knowing how to properly communicate pertinent intel in a fight - and knowing which intel is pertinent to communicate in the first place - is an acquired skill. Hell, just had an LRM guy a couple of matches ago announce to the team every single time he switched targets, after instructing us to "hold locks for the rain". It quickly turned into meaningless noise, and nobody was going to bother taking incoming fire past when they had to for the LRM Guy just because he was switching to the next obvious target in his rotation.
Simply being in a group together does not equate to "tightly coordinated unit of tryhard Ultracomps", and never has. It is a stupid bogeyman that Bads use to run from their Badness, and it will never be anything else.

That’s honestly pretty hilarious. Still doing something like that, while fun, requires a lot of coordination.

You can't "Control" it or "Balance" it.
Combat is Chaos.

One guy actually verbally complained today, "DO NOT cut me off while I'm trying to finish off the enemy!"
Guess I'm a 100% T4 pilot, terrible with positioning, and a chicken legged pilot to boot

I’m going to resist the urge to say something negative here, and just remind you to be open in case others have a different opinion. People do have friends and play with them, and I see plenty of chatter in the upper tiers.
But hey, what do I know, I’m just an “epeen hardcore robot” apparently.
