LOL
If that is your best argument then I rest my case.
Did you stop reading at that point? I said,
1, There are lots more options of C-bill grinders, which yes makes things better. You can spend the INCREASED amount of MC they give away to help get your C-bill grinder mechs. In the past to get say a Dire +c-bill grinder spend 240 dollars. Now you can just play some events and get one with Banked MC.
2, A free mech a month, This was never a thing and great for people with just a couple of mechs.
3, Far more free time, I earned 6 months of Free time this year alone It makes skilling and swapping skills fare easier and is +50% c-bill earn rate. that's huge for new players.
4, They give away far more MC, so you can earn Free heroes. Sure you could get them in the past but you saved for a very long time. I earned enough MC in just a couple months to grab 6 months premium on the new year, Then this year i bought a bunch of heroes with free MC including a direwolf UV and grabbed the deathstrike for free as well. Far more than even just a couple years ago.
5, They lowered the price of Skilling up mechs, Which again helps new players not only level mechs, but also save money for their next purchase
6, They give away lots of GSP, which again helps people level so they can use their cash to buy mechs, verse level them. I earned over 1k GPS this year, which is enough to skill 10 mechs..Again i skipped events and could of easily earned more.
7, They do sales much more often like putting mechs they tweak quirks on, so new players have a far more constant 50% off and get to play with New/tweaked toys, They do engine sales as well which never happens before and that's a ton of cash you can save.
8, Many more cheaper options for Heroes in the platinum packs and the other new booster packs, Having good options to spend 20 bucks is also great for F2P players, Before 20 bucks got you 3 standard mechs, and the other packages with a hero cost 30. Still others were 80 and 120 or even 240! Now you can get a platinum pack for 20 bucks and get 4 heroes. Many folks do spend money on these kind of games, and getting more for you buck is a great thing which helps anyone with an account.
So much for resting your case, i count 8 reasons why the game is better for F2P players with buy options being a very small part of it. . But sure, Stop reading after the first sentence and post a snarky comment.
PS, the list of mechs i earned over the last 2 years, and the previous 8..
List of mechs i earned in F2P in the last 2 years.
Adder cinder, arctic cheetah SH, Incubus SA, Kitfox purifer, Pir Ci, Stormcrow LC, Viper, hellbringer VI, Direwolf UV, Exe CH, Gargolye KW, MCII DS, Wolf hound Grinner, dervicsh FR, war hammer BW, Cyclopes Slepneir, +enough MC to buy 6 months premium.
Mechs i earned in the previous 8,
Thunderbolt top dog, Quickdraw IV, Dragon flame and fang, Kintaro golden boy, wolverine Q. black jack arrow, Griffin sparky, HBK grid iron, Locust PB, Huggin.(I do have some loyalty mechs from this time, but only one year did i actually get more than one and that comes from spending money)
It's very clear they are giving away far more mechs and MC these days and i'm not even doing every event as, and even skip entire months and i still earned all this, everything else i paid cash for.

This may be controversial, but I will argue that EG7 acquiring this game is why development resumed. Once our leader had someone to answer to, the tune changed. This game stopped getting treated like a redheaded stepchild. Not that it made full development possible, but I think we are closer to making the most of what's here.
An FTP game that's going on 10+ years which also funded a Single player game is some how a bad thing? Before they game even hit Alpha Russ clearly stated that if the game was successful there would be a possibility of a single player game. He said this when they opened the site and people singed up in nov and the only thing you could do was make a pilot name, though i think you could also purchase a founders pack at that time. So it was well known that they would do that if MWO did well.
Transverse happened when the game almost went under. If you recall, Mech warrior tactics folded, and IGP dumped the game and they were able to get the rights and continue making the game. Had they not, MWO would of been gone, there would be no mech 5, and most likely Battletech from HBS would not have happened though i guess that would make some folks happy.
