Arround 600-800 to make a bigger leap, around 300-400 for a small ammount.
Scouting, capping and all that crap wont bring you any further, sad as it is, its a fact

flanking, hit and run, kill assists, lance in formation, press r a lot (for the spotting/scouting bonuses), use consumables (especially uavs), etc.

Yeah, and I'm sad about that. Used to be an incentive to actually use it to benefit the team, positioning a multiple AMS mech near your fatties to both protect them and rack up that score.
Now the only incentive to bring it is to be purely magnanimous - which in the salt blasted plains of the soup queue is kind of... meh. Everyone is looking out for themselves, for the most part. Why waste the tonnage when you can bring extra weapons instead?

well that just sucks. i thought the scoring on that needed to be nerfed, but not eliminated. blocking lerms from hitting your team is a very pro-teamwork thing and should be credited.

AMS, especially if there's a lot of it, debuffs enemy missiles in your area. Which lowers enemy damage totals. Which improves the odds of your tier points going up. Similarly, having your teammates survive longer means they are around longer to adsorb other shots from the opfor. Which increases your own chances to survive, score damage, score kills, etc.
This is, of course, dependent upon the opfor bringing LRMs. Still, it isn't just being magnanimous, it's in your own best interests if your teammates survive... I mean, unless you really are good enough to transform a 0-11 into a 12-11 win. /shrug

Which increases your mech's survival, and somewhat your teammates' survival also.
More survival and hopefully more damage dealt, perhaps higher match score!
This was quite noticeable in 2xAMS mechs like ANH-1E and MAD-6S.
Something that I've recently found out...
(Unfortunately 1xAMS on your mech, even with full 2x AMS Overload skill tree enabled, does not do much nowadays...)

What actually happens is people communicate less, want to win more often yet don't unless they are grouped, and still only shoot lasers at targets occasionally.

Scouting, flanking, capping, hit-and-run, spotting, etc. actually do help, just do not do it to the exclusion of everything else.

If you're out farming matchscore and don't have the DPS, kickers are critical.
You can hit 300 match score easily with a couple of well placed UAVs, 300 damage, and a whole bunch of shooting the same thing someone else is shooting.

i dont play lights much, arent beeing a good light pilot either. But my impression is if i do below 250 dmg (in a winning match) i allways drop in tier progress, except the own team totally sucked. If you on the losing side i drop sometimes even with 400 damage. So my impression is, you can do all the things you want.if the damage isnt right you drop.

i also didnt gave a **** about tiers for the past 10 years of playing (more percise 6, or when tier got implemented).I just played for the fun, tested out things that worked or often not worked the way to be considdered an effective player. But that wasent in my interrest, i am not interrested in my standing on the leaderboards, and probably never will.i am simply not that kind of "competitive" player. But after playing this game now for about 10 years (since open beta) i have nothing really left to achieve, to buy or to test out.I think i did all the crappy things to an good extend

The leaderboard is not very useful in that someone with 10 battles for the season can have stupid high numbers in relation to those 10 battles wheras someone with 1000 battles will show more averaged numbers for the battles played.
