remove all "skills"
remove all "critical hits"

make LRM an actual long range weapon (should be the longest ranged weapon system in the game)

Assault used to have turret placements, it made sense as theres now something to actually "Assault". Instead we just have a simple version of capture and people seem ok with it. By the time the capture starts Assaults cant get back, heavies may be able. Lights and fast mediums need a purpose in the game but not to make it brain dead simple to cap/win.

again, PUT TURRETS BACK INTO ASSAULT

actually in battletech Tabletop LRms don't reach that far clan large lasers reach further.

Lrms in tabletop reaches at max 630 meters

the clan ER large laser reaches out to 750 meters

Guass rifles of the main type reach 660 meters

ERPPC reaches 690

Ac-2 reaches up to 720

Clan LBX-2 reaches to 900 meters

to get 1000m your talking ELRMS, Long tom Artillery, Arrow IV artillery missiles And probably Naval sized weapons which are mounted on dropships and Warships.

a bunch of whiny light pilots complained about getting killed by the turrets, a good light pilot with the right weapons could out range or out fight the turrets but no we have to cater to the green pilots...

Take assault mode out altogether and add LRM turrets to incursion (the real assault game type).

The only energy weapon that had longer range (PRE CLAN) was ER PPC.
Note: the gauss and AC2 (etc..) ballistics had slightly further range, that was LOS, and I didn't agree with it then either. Ranges Ammo

The new weapons seem to be enforcing the high alpha game, makes the older IS mechs nearly unplayable due to lower armor
Also the older mechs don't have the ability to mount as many weapons

How about adding Tanks to the game?
