Can we reach a consensus that 2v2 is worlds better than 1v1?
Even dropping with random strangers is more fun than 1v1.

At the time of this post, we have 11 hours of 43 minutes of 1v1 playing in Event Queue...
What a waste of time, when we could be doing 2v2.

I'd say 2 vs 2 should be the minimum drop size for events so it doesn't always devolve into an in your face brawl. With 2 vs 2 you are forced to think about flanks and backstabs so you play far more tactically instead of a bull rush to your target.

2v2 is super nice.. if you have even number of buddies who want to do even queue online.

TBH all of those events could be both at same time unless technical limitations (no coding ability) are not allowing it, meaning 1v1 and 2v2 running same time and you queue one of those, should still have enough people for both.

2v2s were a lot more fun. i did play some 1v1 to farm head shots, but i got 3 from that session and 3 more yesterday when i was doing 2v2. a shutdown, a lucky shot, and a guy who liked to stare.

maybe, but at least one quarter of all 2 mans were foot fetishists.

eq has proven pretty useful thus far. but i still havent seen stock mode, or siege/scouting or any of the other dead modes. i kind of think it should be able to eat everything as it falls into disuse.

I strongly disagree. I'm improving myself in 1v1. I'm not caught between two fires because my friend died. If I do it is my own success. If I can't, it's my own failure.

I think it's nice to have a section for people to test themselves.

I see this place as a testing ground.
I'm testing my machine builds here.
If one weapon fails, I place the other.
I learn good machines according to their classes here.

No way. I didn't get to play as much as I had hoped due to IRL, but 1v1 is the purest game mode. No team mates to screw up, nobody to blame but yourself.

I think 2v2 should run right alongside the 1v1 and if you want 2v2 you hop in the lfg and find yourself a partner should be no solo dropping into grouped mode.

nah, it's fun playing 2v2 with a random partner.

Then randomly group with someone in lfg and switch after your match. If you want a group mode, let it be a group mode.

if the eq would run at higher frequency, then it would give everyone their preferred modes more often. i personally would play more often if eq was used more. unfortunately 1v1 all the time was not sustainable.

custom games are always an option, so you could always set them up if you wanted to do your own tournament bracket.

I'm thoroughly uninterested in more changes that give people who drop together an advantage.

But why not run them simultaneously?

People who need to drop with other people can go do that and leave the people who want to play solo against other solo players can at least do that a few weekends out of the year.

1 vs 1 is a specialty thing, but it really is a thing as far as I can tell.

I think its awful, but it doesn't really come up that much and I'm pretty sure the 1 vs 1 guys don't actually get their way THAT often.

It won't kill guys like me to just take a hard pass on the EQ when its running anything smaller than 8 vs 8; quickplay is always available.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that even with triple XP and MC, tiny matches pay out very little at all compared to 12 v 12, so people grinding for XP or MC or even match score are going to be sticking with quickplay anyways.

I got the coof full blown the second day of this last one (hurray!), can't say I tracked xp and didn't know that you could earn any mc through it at all but as far as c-bills goes 1v1 (even most 2v2) vastly outpaces QP. I probably netted 12-14m cbills in the matches I managed to slog through on thursday evening with a head full of knock out drugs.

i think i was getting 300k in the better matches. but you have to win, otherwise just play qp. meanwhile on the atlas event i was getting 2 million on a loss.

I don't recall the exact c-bills, but ~200k give or take a little for a loss and 4-480k range on wins was what I was seeing. More or less the same as what I'd make in QP with mediums and a fraction of the time. Not that there's any more mediums I'm interested in so c-bills are kind of just a thing now anyhow.

With a regular mech with no boosts it is about 120k for a loss and 330k for a win making it even profitable to just suicide on drop. For the Heavy 1v1 and 2v2 event I made somewhere around 100 million because I had EVERY day off and just sent it. A buddy of mine who is always broke made 20 million this EQ just playing one four hour session. If nothing else the 1v1s are absurdly profitable.
