Hey guys one question.

We get one free name change. I know your config files reset or rather a new one is generated. I also think Jarl's stops tracking your stats obviously. Do you retain your titles, badges and forum posts? Ingame stats on the website? What else changes and resets when you change your nick?

Anyone have experience with this?

Ask PocketYoda / MechaGnome / Samial / Nomad Tech.

He has changed his name a few times, so he will be able to answer all your questions regarding the effects of the name change.

Yes you do retain all the badges and titles. No forum posts stay on the old name. All your mechs weapon setups default as do the pictures in the mech bays. the actual mechs paints and setups stay though.

In Jarls no, In the game website i believe they do stay but i honestly can't remember.. looking at my stats they look like they stay.

The only thing that doesn't change is people that quoted you on the forums under the old name. That'll stay the same in those old posts.

Welcome Mechteric !

My name was getting old, it was a thing at the time, a bad joke. I needed something fresh. My brain is conditioned to see my old nick when I get a kill, sometimes I don't even notice now.

On the leaderboard here they stay but Jarls essentially sees it as one player quitting and a new one starting.

Interestingly, on the MWO leaderboards, if you search your OLD name it will say no player found but if you search your NEW name in an old season it will show your old name. IE if I go to season 70 and search "Galm Razgriz" nothing comes up, but if I search "Orion_" then "Galm Razgriz" comes up. The stats stay the same on here though, unlike Jarls.

Some times a name change can really be a breath of fresh air.. I changed mine as others said a few times but i wasn't happy with them.. PocketYoda is the same as my Steam account so i wanted it to be the same.
