Ummm...no. I have many lights with just 2JJs and they work just fine (also 35t). Please do not try to sell that quirking with an argument like that.

The mech needed something different

With those other lights, it's your choice to chop your jump juice to fattie levels. You could have more if you wanted -- the Hugin can't.

The primary purposes of quirking are to try to balance mechs, to encourage build diversity, and to make different chassis and variants feel at least somewhat unique.

As a result you see quirks that do things like: 1. buff a canon loadout; 2. try to compensate for bad geo with additional quirks; 3. take something a mech can't carry much of (usually single-hardpoint weapons) and give it massive quirks to try and make up the inherent advantage of boating's simplicity. The Hugin gets a JJ quirk because it can only carry two JJs. If you could put four or more on it, that quirk wouldn't exist.

In canon a Raven wasn't know for being a jumper - even 2 JJ are an oddity. That being said, no. 3 is lacking as hell

In this thread, a bunch of people that don't play competitive MWO wearing tin foil hats about the "advantage" gained by having input into balancing.

In other words, you don't like their changes and are now searching for a way to get payback. What I see most is people getting farmed by ER LL and then whining about how the Cauldron has overtuned them for selfish reasons even though they have been nerfed repeatedly yet people still keep getting farmed.

JGx is and always has been a top team, their performance in competitive play has nothing to do with the fact that a few of them are in the Cauldron.

Foam is right, it got that quirk because it can only run 2jj max. Same reason a mech like the locust gets big quirks for large lasers when it can only run one, but mechs that can run six don't get as big of quirks. I would like to get the Huggin more but I wanted that pass to go through quickly instead of taking months to get a reduced pass put in (happened with commando). I asked for another small pass on Ravens and Commandos a while back but only a little went through. Huggin was a bit more hp on side torsos, wasn't much, but haven't got that through yet.

Be it groups, or clans vs IS, or weapon balance, or literally anything else, the same group of people generally parrots the same fiction about how they are conspiring to make the game unplayable for the real fans. The mechdad counterculture is brain poison; if you're actually good at the game, you're a threat to the real fans and any attempt to engage in any degree of introspection about how you play or what you play counts as being good at the game. You can't practice, you cant get better, you can only demand in shrill tones that whatever killed you gets nerfed next.
