What i detest is moving up front as an assault to do my job only to find i cannot move backwards because my team is up my *** and i get obliterated being stuck there.. Happens more than i like..
They need to remove most of the overpasses in Solaris, the map would be a thousand times better without them.

^^ Same. Though I need to learn to just keep shooting if someone steps into my line of fire like an idiot. Hello.. giant stream of bullets... I'm gonna step into that to get my shot!

Thank you for reminding me that not publicly dumping on people for every time I got screwed, annoyed ir inconvenienced directly or indirectly by something they chose to do is vanity, I would now like to talk about how I got TKed last night by a Huntsman who repeatedly laid into my Sun Spider with doubletapped UAC10s and how an ace Flea player suddenly decided trying to rush a fresh MAD4L was a great idea instead of letting my dry-ammo-bin Dragon rush him long enough for the Flea to use what remained of my armor intelligently while a halved KFX worked the basecap

Are you playing with the default throttle? Play with a push throttle, and maybe that will help.
More annoying to me, you see on the minimap where all the enemies are, and you and several guys abandoned your team for a leisurely stroll at 75kph to look at buildings while 5 people die in under 2 minutes. They died because you left them outnumbered.

No, check your fire.

Overall what I am seeing is fairly normal...except you are (more than most players) running your mech into others.
Everyone has an equal responsibility to be aware of their surroundings and move around others - but it seems you feel most of that responsibility is everyone else's, based on what I'm seeing in the video.
Particularly when approaching others from behind, the responsibility to move to avoid team damage or blocking lays with the mech coming up from behind, not the guy in front who can't see behind himself.
Back blocking is team-killing, BTW.
I think you need to look in the mirror if you feel there's a problem with matches you're in, sorry.

I mean, you don't need us near you right? cool I'm going to go do something fun over there far away from you cya big guy, gotta give you your space
I'm not even really non-sympathetic to the issue of getting blocked, I've had it done to me so many times I reflexively prepare to pull or hold shots in crowded firing lanes and have Sorry's wheel position memorized, but again I see trying to be even a little well-mannered is pointless, thank you for showing me the light

No offense but I've placed Top 5 in two different Assault bracket tournaments during my career, once in an Awesome when it was still considered a piece of junk and once in a Heavy Metal during a Hero tournament
I'm in the 97th Percentile on Jarls and thats only because I stopped playing for like 5 years and just started again a month ago. I know how to play an Assault Mech,
sometimes smaller mechs need to get out of the way. A good Medium knows when to not get in the way.

yeah I don't care but since you're so good I'm sure you don't need any of us nearby, we'd just get in the way
when you ascribe this level of HOW DARE YOU to something not borne forth by malice you remind me of me at my worst and if I don't like myself when I get like that I sure as hell don't like you or your Jarl's jockeying justification
seriously demanding genuflection for driving virtual robits gud? GFY.

Again, sometimes smaller mechs need to get out of the way and good pilots understand that as a concept too. People literally B-Line at the first target they see without any concept of positioning and sight/firing lines. Positioning wins games.
When I play my Mediums and theres an Assault fight going on I focus on supporting and if possible flanking and staying out of the firing line of the damage dealers. It's a two way street
I've played with and against you and know you're a good player, but I'm just responding to your strawman argument that is frankly ******** because I am an excellent Assault pilot and understand teamwork

A good assault knows when to save his heat. That Blackjack isn't going to be in front of you for long. Relax.

A lie, but I'll absolutely give you the rest
now how well do you suppose other people understand teamwork, were they taught at all, are they frantically trying to put SOME damage on the board to not come out of a match with miserable numbers, maybe they're just greedy, maybe they're tunnel-visioning on the thing that they KNOW wants to kill them, maybe they're escaping someone else working them from another angle, etc.
I'm consistently surprised at how many people don't even know about MechDB/Grimmechs and the wiki attached, the wiki might be fairly new, the Tactics comics have been around forever but I have no idea how many people have seen them (and seeing something diagrammed is different from actually putting it into practice or adapting it to an unforeseen situation)

It happens very frequently on that map. Just the way it is built. So many choke points, so much stuff to get stuck on, very few clear lanes of fire.
I do try not to burn on teammates walking into my line of fire. Yeah it was crummy of them, but they are a team mate.

correct me if I'm wrong, but:
frankly, I don't get it. the ONE mech I see blocking is
-your- mech.
consequently, -you- should learn something here:
-ingame, you don't run up people's arse and block them to death for no good reason.
-on the forums, you don't shame other people for _your_ misplays - it doesn't show you in any favorable way.

Some jackwagon did it to me just a few days ago (survived that time).
It's gotten my killed a few times though.
That's almost as frustrating as hearing people claim they are going to just keep firing if a team mate walks out in front of them, or worse, if they actually do...

I hate when I'm zoomed in popping caps and a team mate walks into my line of fire and I don't see it until it's too late. oops.
I even I got a friendly kill in a LRM boat last night. oops.
I'm usually pretty good at not backshooting teammates though. Usually... but not last night. I probably had over 150 team damage by the end of last night, trying to level up and build a new (for me) style of king crab (settled on 2xERPPC, 3xMRM20, 4xLMG) and people kept stepping out in my line of fire. My combat logic kept getting messy, I rarely play a mech like that and I felt very awkward for the first couple hours, such a wide torso it took a while to get the feel for it. By the end of the night I was rocking it though.

Lockons that have left the tube are unfortunately not discriminatory about what they hit on the way to the actual target.
