Once I got to Tier 1, it's like something clicked and I became less angry.

Play in wildly off hours.. When I really felt like grinding, I'd play extensively at 7 AM to noon on weekends
Now that I am reasonably stable in T1, I play whenever

todays flavour seems to be for me getting legged 300m out, tunnelvision and dealing 450 dmg not being enough in a rare event

Tier 2 still gets a lot of lower tiers in the games so its more conducive to blowouts as the skill gets stacked on one side via mm or premades or both. Once you cross over into tier 1 then you find the typical game plays out more like an organized match though you still get blowouts because snowballing is real. But I get you. Tier 2 can be a bit rage inducing at times.

That's all I do, grab a mech that can load out something I feel like playing and play. Test out new builds and rebuilds to see if there's a rigging I like better. Sometimes its 200 damage, sometimes its 600 - either way it's enough entertainment for a few matches.
Personally I find the higher tier pull matches more fun than the lower tier pulls.

And ERPPC spam.... and gauss spam... and more ERLL boats... more ERPP Spam and the occasional ERLL Boat... and ERPPC Spam....
And unlike Tier 4 and 5 snipers these guys actually can fight when you close on them and not just bonk into whatever rock they're behind until you core their backs. For brawlers.... it's like the 9th circle of Hell and Asmodeus is piloting a Dire Wolf with 8 ERLLs and somehow not overheating when he continually alpha strikes you from 1500 meters.
I'd play long range if I could but my right hand is more unstable than Charles Manson on Meth.... don't ask... so yeah no long range for me. I'm still confused as to how the hell I made it to Tier 1... it's just proof they'll let anyone in here if you play enough because boy howdy do I suck... out loud.

Its probably 2GR+4ERLL that is continually alpha striking from 1500. 8ERLL DWF isn't as good.

Its a very common loadout in both QP and Comp

Also, its generally run all on the right side of the mech to allow for corner peeks. So just shoot Right Torso and you'll shut down the whole mech really fast. The build does well in QP because people don't know this. Once you do, even a bit of counter sniping shuts the DWF down fast.

Well the people running it are missing out. It has slightly more top dps but less minimum dps (if you build it with weapons in arms to use the -heat side torsos. If not, torso mounts are better but then its min dps falls off a cliff.) Its alpha is a bit higher (88 vs 74) but takes twice as long to deliver and doesn't have the gauss's PPFLD. And the GR+4ERLL can choose to do a full alpha all at once and eat the ghost heat. And of course its much worse vs small fast mechs, has to expose longer, and gets neutered fast once it starts losing DHS.
If you see an 8 ERLL DWF, rejoice! That player has chosen a worse mech than they could have.

2. i have not found the crusaders to be even remotely useful. i have dreaded running every single one of them for the damage it does to my psr.
3. you either end up against players who can kick your buttocks to the curb, or you end up having to carry a team who doesnt know what they are doing. expect to bounce off the wall when you get there. ive done so about half a dozen times, and only the p2w legendary mechs have made any significant progress towards t1. i figure you have to use your top 10% mechs all the time just to stay put and your top 1% to make further progress.
4. hellraiser is an appropriate analogy
