What are you talking about? Some people claim that only groups saved the MWO from death. Groups are the highest good for this game.

I don't mind groups, but, I would like my group of pretty ok players to go against other pretty ok players, not groups of elite ninja death squads that strip my armor with IS ERLL's at 800 meters through a keyhole I am exposed through for 4 seconds.

Here is the truth PGI about Faction play its going to bomb on the events unless you make FP playable for everyone in MWO not just the comp players and meta junkies you're just going to have a baby seal slaughter if any pugs even try to group up and join the event.

So, my suggestion would be to have the matchmaker group up the first 12v12 with pugs and 4–12-man groups in ques not giving the 12 mans any advantages in FP ques and to keep the baby seal clubbing down make it (stock only mechs) are playable.

Cam we remove domination from FP? Waiting 15-25 min for a match to last only t min is quite ... frustrating to say the least.

Your right on the mark here pal it was the common players that are really the bread and butter keeping MWO alive the comp and fp teams are the ones that really killed Faction play with there relentless seal clubbing of weaker teams and any new and casual players that tried to play FP.

PGI never understood good Bracket play where the matchmaker matched teams by wins and losses or a way to keep matchmaking more evenly matched to insure more fun games and less stomps. Solo wuick play now with the introduction of groups is basically the same way very unbalanced game play.

I liked solo quick play the way it was originally and Faction play the way it was year1-3.

Bad move with this event... when you have one or two groups of players just dominating FP which PGI knows... will totally turn people off from playing FP even more...

Although that is a really cool bonus, especially if it leads to an Invasion Dropdeck reward. The free mech event is eligible for Faction Play and that's already very generous.

Whether an event is synced with it or not, even the smallest amount of novelty will get lapsed players to return and try out some Faction each month. It will also give faction units a weekend or two to regroup like the old days.

Tonight there were 2 matches going on at the same time! That's a very healthy situation to be in.

From the few games I had, the changes to gens and turrets aren't a huge deal. The mode is still being won by the team who shoots best together at the other mechs.

Well you can start with making it stable. I've had multiple crash to login screen while trying to do Faction play specifically (No effect on quick play mode), and worse, when I log back in and try to rejoin a match in progress, I've had a 50/50 crapshoot on whether I get back into the match and play for a few minutes before the next login crash, or have the entire program just crash to desktop. And the fact that this is triggering the penalty system is just icing in a **** cake!

This feels more like playing an unpolished beta, than a game that's more than a decade old, and that's a very bad thing!

Seems to be an error, it's not registering kill counts. I've gotten like twelve kills in the three matches I played and it still says my count is zero.

Check the event page on the website. I wasn't seeing any kills registering on the in game event page and had to go to the website. They were there and I could redeem the reward there.

its 3:30 AM and faction was still getting matches within 2-4 minutes of queing in a group of 6-7. this is absolutely amazing. i dont know how this event can be categorized as anything other than a huge success. great job pgi, and big thank you to the map boy for the amazing changes that sparked this event. its great to see a developer take an interest in this side of the game.

Same here, kills of IS mechs by Clan fighters are showing, not the reverse. Neither on the webpage or on the in game screen.

This is really nice! Thanks Daeron/PGI. Finally some love for FP. But still the main issue with FP is veterans sitting on defence que and puggies on attack que. Can someone at PGI explain how much work it would take to make attack/def random? So we can understand why its not on the list?

Like I've already staged, the FP veterans are in organized, optimized groups, farming the players new to FP.

The FP Event rewards are worth it this time around (or at least for me)...
but in the long run this would turn off most or all of non-FP players, that they would not play FP as a result.

I propose disable Groups (and disable LFG Looking For Groups) during such a FP Event in the future.

Update: I've just been in a FP game where the "Defense" (IS) faction: 9 of 12 members are within the same Team. Need I say more?
