I think what happened is that the tracker for these two was reset back to zero when I switched factions, and I happened to not claim these rewards before I switched.
And before anyone asks I have screenshots as evidence of myself getting the required kills this weekend.
You have to reedem them on the website. It doesn't work in-game for some reason.

I'm playing MWO via Steam on Pop!_OS (Ubuntu based distro) for over a year now. Basic, idiot proof install, worked straight out the box for me.

Try redeeming on the website instead of in game.
Despite getting rolled and farmed a few times, I did enjoy the event.
I think a basic training video on Youtube created by the designers or experts at FP like GN-X or FJRD, linked from the event notification, would be very helpful for those new to FP.
I would love to see scouting come back.
Thanks for the great event guys!

At that point I think I decided the mode is best left to people like him. Enjoy.
That brings back memories.

Oh, seems a brilliant plan
Like the one when someone said "all bring assaults" and a team with a top speed ~60kph faced a 12x Vipers rush
Half the team not even reached the "action zone" when gens went silent... But protect "Omega" were kinda slaughter though...
Another diamond were when someone told to select jump capable mechs and jump over the gates to get in... I guess when rewards trigger the attention of the wrong persons funny things could happen
This event were fun. Not only because the increased chance to get matches nor only because the Clan vs Clan and IS vs IS matches! It were fun to see some QP-yolo zum-zum 'round in FP just to realise "siege maps" need some "special approach" (I think there is a topic somewhere scorn siege maps)...

If there is anyone serious about his MWO games then it's me, but the other 95% of the players thinks very different the last few years...

Pros or cons of moving it to the event button?
You mean 3 Events at the same time and just Quick Play instead of Faction Warfare ??
Please explain

Are you also using one of the newer AMD APU's inside a Laptop ??
P.S. : Your signature is broken. And also very large because of that...

I have three AWS-8Q at the moment :
- 3 x Heavy PPC + 4 x Medium Lasers
- 6 x SNUB PPC + 1 x ER Medium Laser in the Head
- 6 x Light PPC + 1 x ER Medium Laser in the Head
And only the SNUB PPC one is performing reasonably, but because all weapons are mounted soo damn low it's a serious pain in the butt before the heat issues come to play...
Soo... tell me...
What kind of magic am I missing here besides just considering it as a TROLOLOLOL mech and be done with it ?!

So I've found that, when these events kick off and flood Faction with pugs, the pug vs pug matches are amazingly fun, even when it's a dramatic win or loss. I had a few matches where I thought we were going to lose, and then won at the last moment, or were going to win, only to lose through quick enemy thinking.
Sure, seeing a large number of FJRD, or EMP, or JGx was intimidating, and often, those matches weren't as enjoyable, but when it was just the lower-ranking groups and no-tag pugs, it was hella fun, and I'd love to play it like that on a regular basis.

This is a very sad statement, and wasn't originally the case. The original pitch for what MWO as a game was meant to be, and intended to include, is a far cry from the pitiful excuse for MechWarrior that we're left with.
I've been championing the idea, for a couple years, now, that the entire game should be divided into Clan vs IS, both as QP, and FP. That way, Clans can be reduced in number, per drop (1 or 2 Stars vs 3 Lances), and their equipment scaled back up to where it's meant to be.
A lot of what's missing in this game is any meaningful carryover from game to game, besides just CB and XP. Any bit of intel that gives you an advantage in the next match, or additional fog of war from having no survivors of the binary/company that departed in that direction "two days ago" (last match), and no idea of what's coming, or from where.
FP is exactly the place where that type of inter-match continuity belongs, but it was never added because the game mode was abandoned before any real development was provided to it.

So I find it very discouraging and frankly quite rude for some players to say "this is only for teams or players who know what they're doing", because the way I, and many of my teammates or friends learned how to play the mode, was by playing the mode, and being taught along the way. Looking at the builds I was getting farmed by, and seeing how best to counteract that style of play, only for a different style to present itself on the next map, and learning, again, what works best against it.
There's no training grounds for Faction, and nowhere to look at the different objects and objectives in the mode and learn how they work and how to interact with them, and you typically won't see FP specific builds outside of FP, so the only way to learn anything about the mode is to just jump in and play it. That's also where I met the teams that I play with, now: I played several games, saw who seemed to be doing well, or just who seemed to be having fun, and started talking to them in VOIP. Very soon, I was invited to their TeamSpeak channels and drop groups to play with them and listen to their coms, and learn what they were doing. My current unit is mostly old guys who either have day-jobs or are 100% disabled, so none of us are good (not like JGx or EMP, anyway), but we have fun, anyway.

It can only help the game and the community if we can help some of these new players get a handle on the game mode rather have them drop in, with no idea what is going on, to get curb stomped by a JgX or FJRD pre-made 2 or 3 times before they give up on the mode, or maybe the whole game, in disgust.

this event was very much fun.. i could drop solo with best waiting times.. max 5 min waiting, sometimes redirected 2 the fight after counter ends.. i switched sites alot and had nice fights on both.. ive seen new players on the field, some goin with the group, coordinate each other and triing 2 get the best out of overwhelming situations.. sometimes rewarded.. very good..
a problem was sometimes defstacking.. queue of 12/52.. and so on.. maybe its possible 2 give some rewards 4 doin dmg on attack in siege games, next event..
after so long time waiting 4 an faction event, im really happy 2 hear that we get this
monthly now..

next time pgi does an event, they need to make the challenges and actual challenge. 8000dmg in a kodiak in 1 weekend would have been a wonderful challenge.
the thing is, we dont want to entice people into fw if they are just looking for free stuff. we want to entice the people who are willing to put in a good amount of effort into the mode, and discourage people who dont have faith in their piloting abilities, or who arent willing to try hard.
making the events easier at the request of a pug is good public relations on pgi's end, but it isnt doing the pugs any favors. anyone dropping in fw should be encouraged to look for a real challenge, no trophies for just showing up. and it would help immensly if pgi updated the fw warning, made it repeatably pop up for people under t3, and removed trial mechs from the mode. they should also add a warning to the intro to the next fw event, so that people have the maximum chance of success if they try the mode. too many pugs this weekend were blindsided by the fact that this isnt qp, and it plays differently. thats probably one of the primary sources of all this salt.

Honestly, none of the salt is new. This is just more voices added to the same old chorus because those voices got a chance to try it without waiting for an hour and a half for a match, and they see the same thing everyone else has been seeing and saying for years. The population boost was nice, it was nice to have a lot of pug vs pug matches without too many premades or elites involved, but at the end of the day, the issues are the same as they've always been, and we're seeing this weekend's participants noticing that.

Actually, this is what they've been doing for a long time. We only saw one new machine recently, but apart from that, there's nothing else.
Three steps forward, one step back. Like dancing.
Take a look. Perhaps there are other things in the old chests.

The highs were really high, but the lows were also really low. I loved playing matches where both sides didn't have organized teams, even if our team lost I still felt like re-queuing for more. The games with random people versus organized 8 or 12 clan drops were miserable, it felt like the game was decided at loading and folks were demoralized before the game even started. It sucked when the organized teams would charge out of base and camp the dropships (not blaming the players, I totally understand).
The best games were later in the weekend and on Monday when I supposed all the clans queued less. Overall net positive in fun for me. Would play more!
