I mean to be honest I doubt we'll see light mechs get any love. I'd like to be proven wrong on that one. These threads I always get a kick out of because you can absolutely tell who the sniper players are.
That being said I think the chassis balance was pretty well done. A few could use some love but overall it was good. Weapon balancing... I mean I understand they wanted long range to be viable again but things like streaks, lock on times, and light mechs in general need some love. I think the long range weapons and play is good where it is. It's strong, viable and fairly dominant if done well.
Let's see some balancing on other weapon systems and play styles now. Lots of folks say the Cauldron is balanced, lots of folks say otherwise. I think if they worked on some things that the community typically thinks the 'Cauldron hates' and makes them less horrible it could go a long way toward addressing that.
Then again people are gonna ***** no matter what so... there is that!

I really wonder at the playstyle of people who constantly complain about snipers.
Use cover. Get close. Kill them.
Your fear of them is giving them an advantage.

Instead you have a lot of matches where you feel as if you play Space Verdun. Trench warfare and camping at its best. I take nascar any day over that because it is just whack-a-mole.
You also see what is wrong when you take risk vs reward into consideration. In a balanced game the more you risk the higher the possible gain should be.
In MWO: You sit in the back, shoot across half the map, you don't really need to manage your heat but just waddle back into cover if it is too much. The same goes if you get shot. Waddle back and reposition. Long range weapons (except LRMs) are close as effective as on long range
Not much risk but potentially plenty of reward
A brawler: has to sneak up, dodge snipers, needs to be as unseen as possible. Then engage the right target at a right time while managing heat and needs to now if/when he has to break off. Cannot retaliate at long range.
Too bad that the brawler has no huge advantage at close range because 1. the long range sniper weapons are also effective at close range 2. a brawler usually will take hits 3. the target can get help from half across the map from other snipers or lrm boats etc. or someone just runs to the victim and helps
Often quite a risk and the potential reward is more than questionable.
The brawler has a tremendous advantage up close. He has DPS and his weapons are easier to use at that range. The ER-Large lasers have high duration so they are hard to aim, especially up close. Then the cooldowns of gauss and erll are very long compared to small lasers, srms and snub nose ppcs.
The risk reward is also higher for brawlers. Brawlers have more DPS than snipers do, unless your builds suck or there is a massive tonnage difference. The only long range weapon that has comparable DPS is the AC2 but it's absolutely worthless as a weapon so it doesn't count. And MW:O isn't like Call of Duty or CS:GO where a sniper can instantly kill you. You can tank multiple volleys from a sniper, especially so if you move quickly and twist. If he gets a free shot on you, but now your weapons are in optimal range, he is probably ****** unless he is much better than you are.
You're also forgetting a huge part of this dynamic. Risk vs Reward is important but so is skill required. Walking up to someone until their mech fills up your screen makes shooting a lot easier. Shooting a small silhouette at 1100 meters in the same spot as it's moving around, especially with projectiles, is challenging and should be rewarded.

Cool.
Assaults whined that turn rate was linked to reactor power - got changed and now they turn like fat ballerinas
Assault whined that lights can still stay sometimes out of the firing arcs of pooooor assaults - 35t mechs turn clumsily after resizing and it is crazy hard to stay out of the firing arc for a noteworthy time - plus the 35t mechs are super easy to hit (funny though, the 20t are too small)
That was the end of light mech brawling
Point is: Double standards, ey?
Same goes for criting of MGs. It is completely ok that a good salvo from a heavy or light can cripple or outright kill a light mech but uuuuuh...if a light can shoot out some weapons of a fatty sniper which doesn't even pay attention to their surroundings, then hell is breaking lose here
Again: Double standards
In a way you are right, though: with the vocal snipers in the Cauldron this won't change. So, try to get as much fun out of it or take a break. I will do the latter once Diablo is out. And don't get me wrong: the Cauldron has done also good things, like making various variants fun to play again. However, they disregard that a healthy game should cater to more playstyles than sniping and laser vomit

No one here is unaware of the things you mentioned. Don't trouble yourself. People often confuse complaints with discussions or feedback. Most of the comments here are complaints rather than questions. People are not seeking solutions from other users.

Try to play on the EU servers at GMT +0. The pushing mech will be supported by others by taking forward positions. I've been noticing on the NA servers at that time, that if smb pushing, the other people just continuing midrange position fighting, its a real nightmare for an ungrouped brawler.
I am not blaming the region, I think its just a time period issue, the midday players play more calmly.

Forcing someone into the game just to have more players seems silly to me.
When I look at other online games, I can easily exit the game whenever I want without any penalties. The only consequence is that if I have earned any points in that particular game, they get erased. I can choose any weapon I want and start the game, and I can even change my character during the game. This is freedom. I don't understand why this game limits that freedom.
Does the person who kills me while using an incompatible machine consider it a victory? I think it's the same as pushing and knocking down someone with a disability.

Guys, snipers are annoying, but they restrain the Nascar. Rotating mechs gonna pay the tax to the sniper.
After 2.5 years delay I have found that classic nascar is an exception.
I think its a plan to stop the rotation - sniper positions around and these sloping uphil roads to the left

I never hated nascar it gave me a reason to brawl.
