It's something. The trials are unskilled, and you'll really notice the lack of things like Cool Run and Heat Gen and coolshots on that LBK. At least you definitely will on Rubellite. Annie got hot super fast too. Summoner feels crazy fragile compared to a skilled version and gets hot. Etc. Puts the impact of skill tree into perspective.

I totally read the event wrong at first. Thought I had to accumulate that much match score in each trial mech. Nope just have to do the damage in the trial, so not as hard as I thought it would be. Should be interesting to say the least.

So, with event queue gone, I have to play these trial mechs in quick play. I can barely keep my PSR slowly climbing when playing skilled, custom built, consumable equipped mechs. With Trial Mechs, I would not be surprised to be back in tier 5 by Monday...

You need 500 dmg per trialmech. Don't be so overly dramatic.

The Cyclops has been the most painful so far. Mainly because everyone shoots you before you get in range.

Also what the heck is the Dad Bot cockpit item? Can not seem to find it in my inventory.

Edit: I do not think any of the cockpit items are showing up if redeemed on the webpage.

You're right though, I got through the trial mechs without too much difficulty.

So, now I have nothing to blame my PSR decline on besides my own lack of skill and poor decision making.

cleared the event last night, did the heavies in EQ, then switched to QP for assaults. once the damage requirements were met, i just hopped into my cheetah and farmed out the components, which was honestly the hardest part. All in all, I say "Thank god that's over!" Trial mechs are trash, and too many of the FP ******* are dropping in event que, instead of sticking to Hell of Hour And A Half Wait Times that they so meticulously crafted with their own hands.

having to play trial mechs is just suffering, some of the mechs were ok like the summoner but having to get 500 damage in a srm cyclops means you'll have at least 2 unfun games. it was a huge relief when it was over.
playing against people in trial mechs is boring. i like it when my enemy can shoot back and doesn't die instantly. you can pretty much tell which team is going to win a match based on who has less people in trial mechs.

Yeah, I expect this one to be painful. I'll wait for HPG to play this mech, hopefully some fighting will happen on top and/or basement so I can deal my 500dmg.

The event is not turning out to be as hard as some people seem to be reading it in the announcement.

You only have to do 500 damage with the trial mechs to get that mech's associated reward; probably two drops for the average player.

The match score is all your match scores added throughout the event, no just trial mechs.

I played yesterday afternoon/evening and got my 500 damage in the Archer quite quickly switched to a new hero I just bought in the event sale, and started skill grinding that up, and had about 6000 match score by the time I was heading off to bed. If someone has a rainy Saturday where they're going to be lounging around the house anyway, I'm sure they could complete the whole event in a day.

On another note. I'm not seeing this event as catering to elites - you can literally own no mechs at all and run the whole thing with FTP trial mechs. The fact that there are lots of other players running trial mechs actually levels the playing field - guys aren't getting a head start over you by having expensive custom loadouts, or fully skilled mechs, or because they are great at building killer mechs in the mech lab, or because they have 2000 hours of gameplay experience with their custom build; that's all out the window when its trial mechs all over the place.
