...you don't need to keep holding down the firing button for the duration of lasers and other weapons! They keep firing on their own once you push the trigger.

What kind of mind blowing revelations have you experience after playing for a long time?

you dont lead a target when firing machine guns - even tho the mechlab tooltip of machine guns have a projectile speed
you can activate arti/air strike while aiming on a UAV
when an enemy de-targets you, you get a noticible blip in your cockpit
there is an indicator in your cockpit for weapon doors (catapult, archer, kingcrab, etc.)

I've noticed on Catapult , that closed weapon doors don't delay missles anymore. But do they still add a 10% damage reduction?

The delay change was like a month ago, or two....
The damage reduction, I believe, is 20%>

I've been noticing that only in 2023, maybe because of better gfx settings and more skilled players around.
Destroyed component smokes, and by that smoke you can track enemy behind low obstacles and even see stealth mechs.
Its kind of punish for leaving empty arm without armor.

It was always 20% on the missile doors mechs (Archer, Catapult, Kintaro, Stalker) and 10% on the mechs with pincers (King Crab, Crab), at least for as long as I have been playing.

Looks like they have buffed it.
Probaby last time I checked it on Smurfy that was King Crab release. Also there is another guy talking about 10%

20% is huge and serious buff for Stalker, Dervish, Hellspawn, Archer and Kintaro

Only if you have unlocked at least one "radar deprivation" node in the skill tree (which you should always do).

if an enemy pops a UAV and your team isn't under it, target it and launch an ARTI strike and it hits below the UAV. or your own teams UAV if teammates are clear

wonder if sticking an rl10 in unused hardpoints with doors is a good practice in order to get the door buff. i dont think you get it without a weapon installed.

This is correct, no weapon no bonus. I believe you also lose the bonus once the weapon is destroyed or, in the case of rockets, consumed

Correct. Don't use the Rocket Launcher too early.

i do believe rockets were buffed for crits early on and so they are better used as a late game weapon.

That is absolutely THE reason why I have arm armor in some of my mechs that don't have weapons in arms. Specially light poke mechs light Incubus. Where that smoke signal can give your opponent early warning blow you to smithereens with 1 well placed and TIMED shot because of the smoke.

some mechs have big arms that serve as excellent shielding. the banshee for example has arms so huge its not hard to justify the use of an xl engine.

i look for smoke, but i find people's bolt-ons will out their position just as easily.

THIS!!! there really needs to be a more obvious warning that MG are hit scan. Like in the loading tips at least.

I can't tell you how much ammo I wasted leading my targets before I found this out. Posted Image

I have yet to use foot print to track someone, but one of these days...

I am gonna use this as an opportunity to say this. Some new people don't realize :)) - You don't need to stay in the game if you are dead and waiting. Yes, you can quit and go on to play a different round with a different mech. If you just love a certain build - make two.
