Also, could discussion of this have been better off in the "Support & Feedback > Website & Forum" area of MWO's Forums instead?

Well, it looks like there's plenty of interest from the '+Like's you've received so far. And between your last post and this one, it appears a friendly Moderator has been kind enough to put this in view of PGI Website & Forum Staff who would not normally look elsewhere. That means we can now get feedback from PGI's Website & Forum Staff team as the thread is now in their view to discuss, and not merely trying to ram something down their throats which could result in their ignoring the thread or pushing back hard against it. I think that I shall give the Moderator's post a '+Like' too!

That one only properly works if PGI can do it in a manner where your Login Credentials could be safely stored and were not possible to scrape by something invading your computer. It really would not be such a great idea at all to Auto-Login the program for MWO's Game Client unless your computer is kept perfectly secure both physically and digitally! This is literally NOT simply a mere ease-of-use and/or quality-of-life issue that must be dealt with, as the problems over Security can be very painful. I rather frankly prefer having to re-type my password on an appropriate prompt over risking losing my account via some malicious attack.

Every Hour? Ouch!
I think this is why I always keep the "MWO: Profile > Lifetime Stats" page @ https://mwomercs.com/profile/stats open in a browser tab whenever I'm logged into MWO's site. That way, it means I can keep refreshing it periodically and completely avoid unnecessary knock-outs to my Login state at any given time. My own state of Login therefore fails a heck of a lot less often.
