That's an embarrassing scoreboard.

I'll just say without shaming anyone, if you're playing 600+ games in a month, maybe it's time to take a break, go to Walmart and get you a nice new clean pack of socks to poop in. Take a shower, too. I can smell you from here.

^^^

We've all had bad games, that game... everybody had a bad game at the same time! LOL

What bothers me is when people don't take personal responsibility. It's not PGI's job to make sure everyone had a perfectly balance team every match and the end score is 11/12 after every match. It's an unrealistic expectation.

It's obvious from looking at the scores what happened in that match, blue team hid behind each other for most of the match (most of red team did too). If someone deserves blame for poor match performance, it isn't PGI.

I'm guessing Blue saw half their team was lights, so they all said "WOLF PACK!" and gaggled together, running circles around assaults in the open until half of them were deleted.. Then they scattered, damaged and smoking, while their remaining weight got swarmed and murdered. That's my guess.

If y'all spent as much time training and learning to play better as y'all do blaming match maker, you would be T1 by now.

You and your team played poorly, that's not PGI's fault, it's yours. Accept that, learn from it, use that knowledge to get better.

Stop blaming othe rpeope for your failure, don't take that statement personally, it seems to be a pastime around here.

Yes, I am T4 right now... I'm still learning, as we all should be, maybe I'll be T3 soon, maybe I'll get to T2, maybe if I get to T2 I'll join a group and we'll play together as a lance and we will all get to T1... we'll see.

But I'm not going to blame match maker because I went left instead of right, or hid behind my team most of the match, or didn't talk to my team and coach us to victory. I won't even blame matchmaker if I got teamed up with a bunch of newbs who don't speak engrish, because I control my tier. All I need do is better than the newbs I got teamed with and my tier goes up.

If you are going to declare your Tier and complain about matchmaker you should at least go to "profile" and check the box that says "Publicly Display Tier", it's in the upper right hand corner of your profile.

Wrong thread or what?

Topic was groups trolling by deliberately dropping minimum weight 4 manners. That happens in tier 1 matches- my tier is public, and I posted a screenshot as well. I was on the winning team, I felt sorry for their team. No one is blaming matchmaker, that is peoplea choice to ruin the match.

whenever i see people stating that win/loss is a you in particular problem i just think they are idiots. its a TEAM game. i have had 1,000+ damage matches with 3 or more kills/kmdd and still lost and being the only player to get any kills at all (been playing for years and still can't seem to get that 5 kill award for some reason. i have had very high KMDD matches (7 or 8 i think is the max so far)). blame it on the team or the matchmaker it wasn't my fault. there is only so much a single mech can contribute to a match. (when the team does badly and i am in the top 2 or 3 i like to say "if i'm the top player you done ****** up" because i am a middle of the road player most days.). yes the only thing in a match you can control is you but that doesn't mean that the team has no effect on match quality. i say Quality over win/loss because a loss can still be a fun match, a stomp in my opinion isn't fun no mater what side you are on.

yes the MM is busted not only does it make large tonnage disparities but also Tier lvls. in no circumstance should a t1 be in the same match with a t5 but i have seen it happen. part of this is the low population and part of it is because it doesn't know how to properly handle groups with solos. the MM doesn't take into account the total tonnage of a group when placing them.

what is the matchmaker supposed to do?

Its not magic dude, you can only make matches out of actual players who actually exist and are actually playing. That's a finite number, made dramatically smaller by tier filtering and weight class filtering.

its clear this situation pushed open a release valve and forced a match to form outside the normal weight parameters. IIRC weight class is the first release valve so its the one you'll most often see pop open. What else do you expect to happen though?

I hardly see why "matchmaker is busted" is a constructive thing to say at all. In fact I think all things considered its actually performing remarkably well. I pretty much reject out of hand the idea that this thing is "busted".

Both teams should be forced into the same tonnage.. but it makes the games wait longer.

Sure does as teams have no idea what kind of tonnage other group has, enjoyable try and error for few hours.

Funny part is that 50ton difference is relatively small compared to what the MM usually throws at you.

Very much this

this is a 335 ton difference, though I'm also gonna say this is the most extreme case I've ever seen, and I'm posting more for novelty (and I have the ss from discord) than any kind of complaint. Matchmaking can just be a big meanie sometimes.

Yeah, group tonnage can vary quite a lot. The disadvantage of that is the MM prioritizes matching a group against a group first. For a group of 2, that can be as little as 40 tons or as much as 200. That's a 160 ton difference right there. Now, that's obviously not the whole story. A good Locust pilot can indeed secure kills, but it's more likely to be a disadvantage. I'd be curious to know whether group matching 1 to 1 is really the best approach. Without knowing exactly the MM's logic, it's impossible to know what it actually does and what might make it better.

Ye, I'll concede tonnage isn't everything, I'd assume 2 HBK-IIC are going to out damage a dire usually, or should rather

To be completely honest I haven't read through all of the posts here, it's just too much lol
But I just had to smirk a bit at the person "THAT'S 50 TONS MORE"

I'll just say that in any case, I"d rather play a match than not play a match, regardless of the outcome
