Hello everyone!

Here are some polls on your favorite, and least favorite, maps and game modes. We'd love to hear the community feedback about what you like or dislike about current maps and modes so we can help work forward on making new maps and improvements to current ones!

The new map has a lot of potential if we can eliminate the pink screen. Thermal vision helps, but thermal vision needs a little more clarity. I still have not found a use for the night vision.

Caught Krazz in EQ this past weekend and it's getting fixed next patchmas. Load it in training grounds, exit, then you're good.

Free worlds coliseum continues to give me extremely severe migraines and nausea. I was told I need to play it anyways. I play in heat vision and afterwards, I cannot play without resting for several hours. I have also tried reshade tools to no avail.

While I'm not surprised Alpine Peaks is the least favorite large map (so far), it bums me out that it is. Despite it's many issues, to me it's one of the few maps that feels like a "mechwarrior" map. Hoping that, if PGI updates it, they don't kill the charm that it has.

Excelllent poll, thank you for requesting the feedback. Though I haven't played the game in ages, I do keep a pulse on it in hopes of having a reason to return. Regarding the subject at hand, personally my biggest issue with a lot of the older maps is that they have a "center" that people always congregate to, and then constantly rotate. Don't get me wrong, this isn't always a bad thing, but it isn't fun when it's the core of the gameplay. The one thing about Canyon Network that I love is that you can spread out and have ranged skirmishes across the entire map. Obviously since this is a small map this is easily achievable compared to your larger maps, but is something to consider when looking to design maps in the future and weighing whether to create a small, medium, or large map. It would be REALLY interesting to also see a heat/engagement map of the popular maps to see how the majority of the population plays those maps.

It's about as pretty as that kind of map gets, but it's lopsided. I still dislike Frozen far, far more ESPECIALLY on Domination, with Assault taking a close second for suckage.

I honestly like all of the medium maps, maybe notsomuch river city, but the trees on emerald vale are just so aggravating for me because of how blinding they are to stand in

My gripe on the new map is just that it kinda seems like you have to bring blue lasers or jumpjets or you're a bit screwed, there are just a lot of steep walls without enough ways to get up them, but that's just my opinion

I with that map was just a bit less steep in general and had more hard cover to fight from

I think the forest colony classic / snow and the frozen city classic / night could've been merged into one option, it kinda seems how people are voting for them

Does PGI have an internal rules set for map design?
Can we get some exploding barrels or something similar on Ceres Metal Scrapyard?
In general can we get maps that have more destructibles on them?
It would be cool if there were destructible walls on map in general and not just limited to Incursion.

iI don't know what the problem is. I downloaded the most re I'm not exactly sure what the specs on my computer with an integrated graphics card, I updated the frivers but the map is still that reddsh purple tint.

How can I vote for my favorite game mode when you didn't even include it? Siege is the only thing I want to play, ever.

The worst maps all have the same features: large, wide-open sniper maps. Alpine Peaks, Frozen City, Grim Plexus, and Tourmaline Desert. It's simply not fun being sniped at with no way to respond.
  • Alpine Peaks is trash with no redeeming qualities. I don't know a single person who actually likes the map for itself - some people have vague nostalgia from when MWO was 8v8 and Alpine was the only big map, but that isn't relevant. Remove it from rotation and nobody will be sad.
  • Frozen City would actually be a fine map if not for the giant gap of death. Fill that in with more city and the map would be instantly great.
  • Grim Plexus is too wide and open. Sniper mechs can shoot across the entire map, with almost no cover to approach them. There are a very few approaches that can be taken, but the map is so large that slower mechs (65 kph and under) can't easily get on top of the snipers in time to do anything useful.
  • Tourmaline Desert has too many sniper lanes and not enough cover. The sniper perch in G5 is the worst, but there's a couple other spots that are bad too. Additionally, there's pits with only one walkable exit, the map has the gash that prevents about half of it from being used, the invisible terrain is incredibly frustrating, and the map has a severe stutter problem (especially when artillery is used).

Polar Highlands is currently fine, but would be much improved if the outside of the map was chopped off. Don't change anything except its size - spending literally 2 minutes walking at the start of a match is boring and unnecessary.

Frozen City Classic Night has a nonobvious imbalance - when a mech peeks saddle or spaceship, one side sees the mech backlit by the wall whereas the other side sees the mech backlit by the black sky. A black-painted mech with the sky at its back is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult to see than that same mech with the wall at its back.

Mining Collective is a fine map, except it's provably imbalanced. I don't know why it's imbalanced, but in the CS2022 finals, one spawn location had a 20% greater chance of winning. I don't know what causes this, so i can't make suggestions to fix it. I would, however, request that the walls be made vertical so snipers cannot stay at their spawn and just shoot enemy mechs.

Incursion game mode would be improved if the power cells were replaced with Conquest-style capture nodes, with each corresponding to a different perk. With this change, Light and Medium mechs would need to fight for control of a perk, rather than grabbing power and then running AWAY from the fight to "power up" a perk. I think it should be easier to swap control of a node than in conquest.

Hard to decide which of these to pick for "least favourite small map":
- Forrest Colony Classic?
- Forrest Colony Classic Snow?
Both are really bad relics from 10 years ago and lead to horrible gameplay in my opinion. I'd really like them getting removed from the rotation again (but leave them in the game for private lobbies or events).

I like HPG Manifold, Mining Collective, Rubellite Oasis, Emerald Vale, but I should pick only one so I choose Mining Collective.
It could be nice If we can rate all map.

Frozen City Domination is the worst map in the game, IMO. Frozen City only works well when the fight happens in the cities on either side of the middle, but the domination circle forces people into the middle.

It's funny - I always say I hate the "giant maps," but really I'm OK with all of the ones on the large map list other than Frozen City, Alpine, Polar, and Forest Colony. Those are the maps that *feel* pointlessly big. The others don't have that problem.

I had a hard time picking a "small" map that I don't like. I like them all.

Frozen City Assault is the worst mode to play on that map, people just standing there shooting at themselves from 2000 meters away suck. You loose one and u have to push, otherwise u spent 10 more mins waiting for the game to end.

Incursion is the worst mode imo.
