Here are some polls on your favorite, and least favorite, maps and game modes. We'd love to hear the community feedback about what you like or dislike about current maps and modes so we can help work forward on making new maps and improvements to current ones!
Of course, don't just vote in the poll. If you have more thoughts, I'd love to read about them in the comments!

My gripe on the new map is just that it kinda seems like you have to bring blue lasers or jumpjets or you're a bit screwed, there are just a lot of steep walls without enough ways to get up them, but that's just my opinion
I with that map was just a bit less steep in general and had more hard cover to fight from
I think the forest colony classic / snow and the frozen city classic / night could've been merged into one option, it kinda seems how people are voting for them

Can we get some exploding barrels or something similar on Ceres Metal Scrapyard?
In general can we get maps that have more destructibles on them?
It would be cool if there were destructible walls on map in general and not just limited to Incursion.

- Alpine Peaks is trash with no redeeming qualities. I don't know a single person who actually likes the map for itself - some people have vague nostalgia from when MWO was 8v8 and Alpine was the only big map, but that isn't relevant. Remove it from rotation and nobody will be sad.
- Frozen City would actually be a fine map if not for the giant gap of death. Fill that in with more city and the map would be instantly great.
- Grim Plexus is too wide and open. Sniper mechs can shoot across the entire map, with almost no cover to approach them. There are a very few approaches that can be taken, but the map is so large that slower mechs (65 kph and under) can't easily get on top of the snipers in time to do anything useful.
- Tourmaline Desert has too many sniper lanes and not enough cover. The sniper perch in G5 is the worst, but there's a couple other spots that are bad too. Additionally, there's pits with only one walkable exit, the map has the gash that prevents about half of it from being used, the invisible terrain is incredibly frustrating, and the map has a severe stutter problem (especially when artillery is used).

Polar Highlands is currently fine, but would be much improved if the outside of the map was chopped off. Don't change anything except its size - spending literally 2 minutes walking at the start of a match is boring and unnecessary.

Frozen City Classic Night has a nonobvious imbalance - when a mech peeks saddle or spaceship, one side sees the mech backlit by the wall whereas the other side sees the mech backlit by the black sky. A black-painted mech with the sky at its back is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult to see than that same mech with the wall at its back.

Mining Collective is a fine map, except it's provably imbalanced. I don't know why it's imbalanced, but in the CS2022 finals, one spawn location had a 20% greater chance of winning. I don't know what causes this, so i can't make suggestions to fix it. I would, however, request that the walls be made vertical so snipers cannot stay at their spawn and just shoot enemy mechs.

Incursion game mode would be improved if the power cells were replaced with Conquest-style capture nodes, with each corresponding to a different perk. With this change, Light and Medium mechs would need to fight for control of a perk, rather than grabbing power and then running AWAY from the fight to "power up" a perk. I think it should be easier to swap control of a node than in conquest.

Both are really bad relics from 10 years ago and lead to horrible gameplay in my opinion. I'd really like them getting removed from the rotation again (but leave them in the game for private lobbies or events).

It's funny - I always say I hate the "giant maps," but really I'm OK with all of the ones on the large map list other than Frozen City, Alpine, Polar, and Forest Colony. Those are the maps that *feel* pointlessly big. The others don't have that problem.
I had a hard time picking a "small" map that I don't like. I like them all.

Incursion is the worst mode imo.
