Look PGI... Legendary Mechs...

Just fancy name for the already existing Hero 'Mechs. Nothing new here.

Lame new weapons...

X-Pulse lasers were in MechWarrior 3, MechWarrior 4 and MechCommander. It is no big surprise that PGI has added those too.

The Mektek's mod of MechWarrior 4 added Blazers too (I think).

View PostSteel Shanks, on 22 August 2023 - 04:49 PM, said:

Ye advance weapons, but time wise in like Faction Play we're still in 3052? LOL...

Only a small number of people plays Faction Play. For PGI it makes non sense to invest in it too much - big costs, uncertain (read "negligible") returns.

This is becoming a giant *****-show...

If you say so.

View PostSteel Shanks, on 22 August 2023 - 04:49 PM, said:

One of yer Hatchetman Variants is from the fecking Dark Age for Gods sake... What are you doing?

I believe it was Mark Nicholson (or maybe Matt Newman) who said that PGI no longer cares about eras and such things. If a 'Mech has weapons and equipment that are included in MWO, such 'Mech is a fair game, no matter what era it is from.

View PostSteel Shanks, on 22 August 2023 - 04:49 PM, said:

I'm about done with this fecking game...

Your choice.

View PostSteel Shanks, on 22 August 2023 - 04:49 PM, said:

**** You PGI... I'm ready for another developer to do something with Mechwarrior... Or just let it die for a few years...
Man, I wish Hare Brained Schemes would do a second BattleTech game... Sad times...

Because big studios are already queueing to get their hands on this niche IP with a small playerbase.

is there something wrong with the Hyper assaul guass aiming I can't seem to hit anything very well.

Isn't that the purpose of the HAG? Aim in the general direction of a mech and fling a thousand bullets at it.

Ok. Go play a different game if you hate this one so much. Mmls could get added at some point, but you don't need to be a pissy baby when they don't add your favorite weapon day one. This game isn't even based off of lore, at all. You realize that, right?

Actually, MWO is based heavily on the lore, although they've been deviating more and more in recent years (to the chagrin of a great many of us).

Love the new Weapons, but would love to see PGI make inhouse weapons that are not canon. Just to add some more spice to the game.

Example:

for Clans:

Heavy Pulse Lasers
ER Heavy Lasers
AP Rail Guns
Rail Cannon
Pulse Cannon
Anything Missile-wise
Light Autocannons: 2/5/10/20

Inner Sphere

Rail Guns: 3/6/9 (various weights/sizes)
Ion Cannons 2/4/6/8 (various weights/sizes
Plasma Rifles
Heavy Missiles 4/8/12 (various weights/sizes)
Chemical Pulse Lasers

Just some ideas is all.

Yeah, you have to hold the cursor perfectly still on target (and track moving ones), after holding the button down to trigger the firing mechanic. Can be tricky to master at first.

How? have you been killed by one? or are you just tired of being hit by them? They have charge you can't fire more than 2 they are not very good at range for anything other than saying Hi pretty much, they're kinda hot as well..

Of all the new weapons i've been killed by the HAG the least.

LOVE the new weapons, a belated addition to the game! Now just have to add melee, streak LRMs, thunderbolts and this game can experience a new renaissance.

PS

I do fear PGI might neef them sooner than later, some of this weapons (x pulse laser for example) do feel like they make the other laser weapons kinda obsolete, the moment to moment fight do geel more intense though, and previously not so great mech feel more viable now, Im kicking *** with the TDR 5S and that didn't happen before.

I've been asking for hyper gauss since the civil war dropped to balance with the heavy gauss.

Yes sad clan never can keep fun weapons.... i really hope they don't but i fear they will nerf hags.

THe x-pulse seem out of place they have almost totally replaced pulse in lower tiers... yesterday i did not see a match without them..... If anything needs a nerf it's the x-pulse they should be slowed down and given more range.... Leave the hags alone their fine... their just better at mid range. Binary lasers seem fine their ghost heat mistake needs fixed though and perhaps should remove them from any large laser Hsls

In fairness, it's been a day since these weapons dropped, so we're likely to see almost nothing but them for the next week or so. Once the novelty wears off, we'll probably start to see a rebalanced mix of weapons, more akin to what was common on Monday.

yeah and i think if we see more x-pulse we're going to see the rise of flamers to overheat such mechs. same with binary cannon.

1) The sound of a HA-Gauss shot seems alien to me.
I mean, we know what a light gauss sounds like, we know what a gauss sounds like, we know what a heavy gauss sounds like.
But HA-Gauss sounds like a completely foreign weapon, having no kinship with the Gauss family.
2) The sound of HA-Gauss charging is misleading. When the weapon is fully charged, sound simply disappears. However, the entire centuries-old experience of mankind tells us the opposite, that when some process is completed, a sound signal should be heard.

Yeah i noticed that makes it hard to hold down. almost if they had intended it to not have a charge up. but then again we don't have capacitors in our Gauss rifles just short term batteries. so.

PGI has not managed to implement functional LBX Autocannons with switchable slug / clustershot ammunition.

And since the basic in-game purpose of MMLs is to switch between SRMs and LRMs ... We are out of luck here.

for MMLs they could be implemented just like ATMs. they have 3 different damage brackets for short medium and long range oh and a minimum.

Except MMLs would only have two brackets for SRM and LRM.

So now that we have HAGs, X-Pulse, Binary Lasers, ATMs, Rotary AC/s, Heavy Lasers.... when do you think we'll be getting reactive and reflective armor?

Oh that would be interesting. I think we might actually get it in some recent future. Though i really would like much more to see a plasma rifle and plasma cannon, heat weapons are really going to shake the laser meta up!
