My thoughts on rocket launchers is that theyre not distinct enough in game play. Theyre basically single shot SRMs right now and have no advantages.

I think rocket launchers should be changed to be more like how rocket pods are in real life, i.e. you hold the trigger down and the rocket pod fires continuously. Basically rocket launchers should act like more like machine guns, but still fire projectiles. This would give rocket builds an advantage of not firing every round in the pod at once and make them distinct from MRM and SRM.

The ammo limit per pod could be retained and accuracy improved to make them a more inticing option if thier behavior was changed.

An alternative would be to add a resupply consumable that forces a power down for some length of time to restore ammunition. Im honestly surprised this isn't already in the game. Just power down the mech and have a UAV spawn in and fly over to the mech to give away its position to sharp eyed opposition.

Great "outside the box" thinking, I like it.

They could also add "repair bays" to "bases", letting each team member get (~certain percentage) armor repair, one time per mech, perhaps add one extra repair if certain conditions are met.

That could yield a more dynamic game.

...being able to chain fire rockets would be nice...like holding down the fire button to rapid launch, or just let em loose 1 at a time...they should do much more damage per shot though, to make up for the heat and the low ammo .

biggest issue with rocket launchers is their abysmal damage/ton compared to practically every weapon. if you assume half the weight is ammo, then an rl10 should have a quarter ton of ammo with damage equivalent to the standard. most weapons hit at least 200 damage/ton, most missile weapons significantly more than that up around 240. that comes out to 5-6 a rocket . 4 is acceptable if the rockets have rapid fire capability and can retain the damage dump if you were so inclined to use them in that way (just hold the trigger down). but it would be more useful to pop them off one at a time like they were autocannon rounds. but they would spread like a rac or a hag or not at all.
