I am asking because this big and broad-shouldered BattleMech will need all durability features that it can get - both in MW5:Mercs and in MWO.

Missile bay doors are good for providing such additional protection.

Please note that the Longbow will compete with the Stalker and the Stalker has the advantage of the body shape that tanks the incoming damage much better.

I agree that Missile bay doors would be a very welcomed addition to the mech but looking at how MW5 handled Missile platforms (Archer, Catapult and Dervish come to mind) there will probably not be any missile bay doors for the Longbow in MW5.

MWO might be different as those models do include MBDs so hopefully if (cough, cough...when....cough) the Longbow comes to MWO we'll be able to say hello to teammates via Morse Code by toggling doors open and closed.

MWO Legendary Mechs need AMS hardpoint; I do not understand why some of the Legendary Mechs have no AMS hardpoint. (FNR-J, TBR-H, AS7-W, Urbanmech IIC, etc.)

Longbow is coming (new missile weapons? improved missile performance?).

+1 on MWO having to do something about missiles being so hobbled in this game if they want the Longbow to be successful here.

Bad news on EPIC, I keep getting "Looks like something went wrong. For your protection, this transaction has been declined. Please try another card or other payment methods" with multiple payment methods and credit cards.

If your KPI are low... there is an error happening.

Paypal option worked.

The EPIC store was flagged at discover and maybe other cc providers

Of course, I know that PGI could solve it with something like +40 Armor LA / RA and +30 Armor LT / RT quirks, but I think that having missile bay doors doing what they are supposed to do would be definitely more stylish.

Also, it would be truer to the established art, since the majority of Longbows has had such missile bay doors.

Why are the Ballistic and Energy variants not in the lineup? LGB-0H This Civil War-era variant designed by the Marian Hegemony replaces the entire weapons loadout of the standard Longbow with two PPCs and a fearsome array of twenty-six one-shot RL-10s. The 0H also sports eleven double heat sinks LGB-13NAIS Manufactured exclusively for the the Federated Suns, the 13NAIS variant removes all missile launchers and uses a standard fusion engine, though it does use an endo steel frame to save weight. Each arm mounts three light autocannon/5s that can make use of special munitions produced by the Federated Suns. To ensure that it can mount such ammunition, seven tons are allotted to the ammunition bins. A Guardian ECM suite protects it from enemy electronics, while a C3 slave uses targeting data from other C3 equipped units to improve its accuracy. The 13NAIS mounts an ER small laser and a pair of ER medium lasers. LGB-10K Completely unique among Longbow variants the 10K may also be the most deadly. 1 Medpulse (HD) 1 ERLL(CT) 2xUAC-20 1 per arm.

Because these variants don't exist during the war of ´39?

Perhaps PGI is saving them for some future "Reinforcements" 'Mech pack.

If it ever comes to MWO, the only good thing about this mech is seeing missile tubes in the arm correct when using mrm40...
...
The only one.

Well, probably like in mechs with many hardpoints for certain types of weapons, the quirks will be especially for the others!!! Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

No surprise.
The surprise would have been to see, mainly as missile boat mech, at least one HSL for the missiles... In fact, there isn't one! Posted Image Posted Image
