Hello Fellow Mechwarriors,
I have been out of the game for a few years now I feel the pull back to the Cockpit, I have been using a Sanyo Flat screen as my main Monitor for recording music, With a Dell secondary monitor.
Trouble is the resolution is way off on the Sanyo, The Game Screen that you choose what to do and has all your info is too big, cant get to any buttons to launch or adjust any thing, I have been fooling with settings on the Nvidia card and I have it set where I can play Mech 5, but still no Online.
My current settings for the Flats screen are 1360 X 768, Sad I know, even the gameplay resolution on Mech 5 is very bad, But I just had to play some!
I have been reading forums and a lot of info out there but Just not sure how to proceed, I feel Ill probably have to switch to the Dell monitor. its a 24" so it's not tiny.
If anyone has any ideas I would be forever in your Debt!
Thank you, Aaron

Hey, a warm welcome back to MWO!
In this MWO game, try pressing [Alt]+[Enter] to switch back and forth between a full screen and a windowed screen!
And do try using [Full_Window] in your settings, as widely reported to be more effective:
[Settings]>>[Video]>>[Full_Window]>>[OK]
Specifically, do not use [Full_Screen]. ymmv

Hey! Thank you so much for your reply!!
I have tried the ALT/Enter move to no avail, And I can not get to the settings button, Is there another way to get into settings other than the First Screen, (Walk around your mech screen) ??

Quit MWO;
Try to locate the file "attributes.xml" under the following path:
C:\Users\[yourwindowsusername]\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\Mongrel714
open the file with something like notepad or notepad ++ and locate the entry
<Attr name="OptionCfg.ViewMode" value="[yourvalue, most likely a 2 now]"/>
Change that value to 1, save and start the game again. The game should now start in windowed mode

Is the sanyo a tv? Some of the older tv that had pc inputs(especially vga) could play rough with some games. Had a magnavox 32" 720p tv back when lcd tv got cheap that I used as a pc display for a while and it would have odd issues with some games on aspect ratio. Nowadays tv at least the mid to high end stuff has comparable or even higher performance than dedicated gaming displays. My current 55" set is 144hz with dolbyvision hdr and premium freesync wide range vrr with mini led, quantum pixels and 1000+ local dimming zones for oled black levels. I'm not even sure current pc gaming displays even come with dolbyvision or quantum pixels or local dimming. At least not for less than a few thousand. This was $750 on sale.

The game runs well at 4k even on older hardware as long as you use the user.cfg to turn off ssao. That one setting eats up the majority of fps in this game if the in game settings has it enabled like on the higher settings. Make sure your gpu has at least an hdmi 2.0 output to output a 4k 60 signal or a displayport that is 1.4 rev or higher and you can use a displayport to hdmi 2.0 adapter.
