You'll be able to lob direct fire lock-ons though, which shouldn't be a problem for any of you guys right? Afterall, you are implying that lock-ons take skill to use, thus you are obviously using TAG and line of sight to gain lock and fire with the lower trajectory, instead of hiding behind your team mates and mousing over a red square. Because THAT wouldn't be very skilfull at all, right? Right? Honestly, don't know what the problem with that roof is...

I wish it was that easy but getting locks with direct fire lurms against a ecm mech and probably one or two more behind it takes to long and even when you achieve lock and fire they already in cover with their weapon cd nearly done just to melt your face in with laservom. It's way more safer and logical to use indirect fire since you don't be a sitting duck in the open constantly losing trades against the high skill laservom mechs because ecm and radar deep is so broken atm.

Well if they could come up with a way to significantly increase the velocity of direct fire lurms, then you COULD trade with folks, lock or not. Just use them like MRMs without a lock and go. Half damage MRM's with a minimum range. Alas, they're too slow for that.

Even with a velocity boost for direct fire it's still inferior to midrange trades and firing them without have horrendous spread from my experience, LRMs just need an entire rework but that's not gonna happen for this near abandon game.
