I want to see how each color looks on the default Onyx skin.

I've only did 2-3 games, but it's harder to shield than i thought. Probably need to max skills for agility first, before it's fast enough.
One game got CT killed (with orange armor) and other XL side torso (left), but I don't know if the arm fell off before, or after (probably due to side torso desctruction).

Have to get used to IS-medium again, which is typically only worth for hyper-quirked boats.

Perhaps MWO should make the shield slightly wider for this Legendary Centurion Onyx...

Torso twist speed skill nodes a definite need for this.
Onyx is too squishy to run an XL. Even with the shield and competent damage mitigation.
LFE with 2 Snubs and AC5 can get it done but damn the squish.
It's like the armor/structure doesn't have the same protective power of comparably kitted out mechs.

From the standpoint of fighting the Onyx, that shield is great if you're doing the old twist-and-boom brawling thing against a sustained damage 'mech, but slow-firing alpha builds, or another traditional brawler, are just going to wait till you twist back. If you're just trying to shield while you move or retreat, however, it's amazing. I'd suggest you guys treat the shield as a safety net, and try to use your Centurion as a mobile flanker to engage other 'mechs 2-on-1.

why i am hesitating to buy the new mechs are the genetic standing items, they just look the same.

Whenever I see the Onyx, I hear two different things, "Ave, true to Caesar." (when paired with the Arges) or The COPS Theme (when paired with K9s). I love it.

The ONYX is a fun Mech to run. There are multiple build possibilities that will give you endless torment's on the battlefield . Or some old schoolers, like myself break a keyboard or two, because that's how hot the matches get.
