Running a CPLT-C4 build with 10 tons less. It's a good chassis aside from the ridiculous scaling. Probably. It would certainly HELP if it weren't gigantic, anyway.
Yeah the firepower is great, but the hitboxes are oof.
Whereas the 75t MAD has the opposite issue (for some variants.)

I'm a Marauder diehard! Both the 75t and 100t.
I wish I could like the Griffin lol.
griffon used to be one of the best srm brawlers in the game, idk what happened to it. of course this was before hags or range meta, or even the cauldron for that matter.
one of my latest hero acquisitions was one of the griffin heroes (not an srm brawler though), and it did pretty well. so the cauldron is doing something right. they are usually pretty good at fixing dead mech variants.

Its still a great SRM brawler. Its just very big and easy to hit the CT. And not as fast as other SRM brawlers. So still good in 1v1 and small brawls, but not as good at avoiding and spread dmg in QP as, say, Huntsman or even Dervish.

The game is in a much better place now than it was 4 years ago. A much larger variety of builds and playstyles are valid in quick play now.
PGI and the cauldron have done a pretty good job. Stop being so negative all the time. Enough is enough.
Disagree. I enjoyed myself far more 4 years ago even with all the issues back then.. The only thing better now is that PSR is not an experience bar anymore.
I dunno about you, but this last patch is pure garbage.
Doesn't really matter what they did with this patch because of the issues that make finding a match 10x worse.
So whoever f'd up and gave us the "cannot locate server and therefore your mech you wanted to use is now in limbo" needs to step forward and be counted.
are you playing on the EU servers because there's a known issue with them.
Stalker 5M with 5 aSRM6, 2 snubs wrecks.
Misery with 4 LL, 1 aSRM6 1 Snub.
I recorded 2 matches in each. I already had the 5M build, but had not tried that Misery build yet.

RAC/5 + MRM-30 + 5 MPLs. With a LFE 300 and 5 DHS (2 in the engine) the RAC/5 is heat neutral so can just fire away, the MRM is good for opening up their armor, and the MPLs help with finishing off a component or subbing in as primary when the RAC is jammed.
I do think the game is a lot of fun today. But something I have been noticing after coming back recently after a year being away, is just the amount of stomps I see in games now. Most games I play are like 12 to 2 and I feel that armor has become for the lack of a better word useless, so many builds are doing so much crap ton of damage.
For the first time ever in the history of MWO I prefer lights and fast mediums, I stay alive much longer in them. But because of that I'm having a blast with the little buggers.
Jesus. And I thought my having 20 something Quickdraws was going a bit overboard!
didn't a drunk dev "gift" like 100 sunspider Cs to someone one time as a joke cause they were streaming a "i will not sell till i fully max all skills on the mech" run or something?
I had time to play 1 match in it. I think this build can be improved with an MRM40 and MXPLs for continuous fire.
I used to have MXPs in it until about a week ago, they ran just a bit toasty for my liking. Similarly the difference between the 30 and 40 was more for fitting an extra heatsink and getting an extra ton, the 40 definitely would be the better weapon to use but it wasn't 'pretty' enough for me in the mechlab.
Since 2012 I have put over ten thousand hours in, I know this because I have 5000 hours on Steam alone and the only real break I took was when clan Wave 1 dropped and it was miserable because I couldn't afford to buy clan mechs in that godawful pricing scheme
TTK is actually better now than when wave one hit and there was no ghost heat on a DWF with 6 to 12 damned cERLL
You can probably find my old 2014? 2016? posts where I asked if we could double armor again, they're really old posts though, and we basically did after several years by adding quirks and armor/structure skill tree
Maybe I'm 'on an island' with this but I feel the game balance has improved significantly since the cauldron took over
I'm not going to say everything they have done has been solid gold but they have done a lot of good and our weapons are being balanced faster now than ever and a lot less drastically
I felt there was way to much feast of famine and dark board balancing
Once the MG was really stupid powerful, then it was nerfed into the ground, this kind of balancing isn't what I want, I don't want to see weapons change that drastically
Remember the LRMageddon?
Remmeber when SSRMs targeted CTs?
So I'll be patient and wait for them to figure out how to bring the HAG into a better balance
Also, the STK is a solid mech, it did need the buff to its survivablity since everything else was being boosted, but it has been one of my favorites, and I used the Misery since it came out
No its NA as well since I have only NA servers selected.
oceanic server is the only one mostly functional right now but the server problem is of known cause and being worked on with a hot fix coming (allegedly).

Not the best examples, they nerfed those systems into oblivion, and I’m not confident that the upcoming adjustments to ECM will remedy them because the people proposing the changes express disdain for those weapons and the people that use them.
could it be that their servers are reaching their mtbf. i always assumed pgi rented servers and managed them remotely but its also entirely possible that its their own hardware and they haven't been doing regular maintenance. that perhaps all these years we never saw a server upgrade. and ive built at least four rigs since this game came out of beta. that would be a good way to build a house on sand.
