Antiquated game engine!

I do NOT know who's bloody idea it was to use this patch, but it completely made the game near unplayable across ALL servers.

I know, I know.. you are aware of the issue and making your best efforts to get it resolved a.s.a.p.

However, we all know that there is no ETA on time of repair due to your techs are still waiting on repair parts.

But!, Here is an idea! It's completely brilliant!....after speaking to several 9-10 year veterans of this game, we all agree of the following:

In addition, a few years ago, I made a post asking what timeline in game people enjoyed the most, or they had the most fun, and it was a toss-up between Tukayyid 2 and Closed Beta. This is when, at the time was aptly named "Community Warfare". Where units could put their Tags on planets so they could generate MC to help out their new pilots. And the most important thing, you had sooo many more people playing this game.

Then whatever hairbrained wet noodle decided to come up with, oh hey! Lets bring on Solaris 1v1 / 2v2! and then promptly and essentially shooting yourselves in the foot repeatedly and removing the ability to put tags on planets then changing it to Faction Warfare and able to be mercs! Just because some idea fairies thought hey! This sounds like a good idea... welp.. just like Solaris, it ended up being an abysmal failure!

So my idea is this, Make the game as it was between Closed Beta and Tukayyid 2. That way you can have IS vs Clan, IS vs IS, Clan vs Clan! and even yet, Scouting! this includes REMOVING ALL QP Maps and Modes from Faction warfare!

You want people to come back to this game and enjoy it! Go back to the time it had the most players and the most fun. between Closed beta and T2! I've been playing this game for 10 years now, and just like the US Military, this game has taken a nose dive into Area 50-Poo. ( If you ever been to Kandahar, you know what Im talking about ).

You say you read these posts, and listen to the player base, well listen to us now. Just like someone made a post about everyone whos still playing is passionate about this game, well myself and those Ive talked to are too.

revert the game back to Closed beta and tukayyid 2 when player base was at its highest.
and you'll see population numbers go back up quickly!

Correction, PGI lreads the post but Cauldron who does all the actual balancing suggestions does not.

Cauldron only listens to the select group on their own discord, and even do polls there that are hidden from the public.

Like this post says, the Cauldron feedback discord can be used for discussion, but so can these forums. Some Cauldron members do read the forums.
Though the OP's suggestion would be more of a PGI call than the Cauldrons.

Dude you're so funny Discord can be configured with passwords to private rooms you cant even enter the rooms to read messages. Plus, if real MWO players saw the messages and plans for MWO as the Cauldron and their buttola buddies were planning they would nuke the discord.

You should hear what they call regular players in MWO on their discord they all should get a pink slip.


P.S yes Khale I agree with you 100% many have tried to tell PGI or whoever is in charge there this idea or yours and many other vets but alas it just falls on deaf ears as 99.9 percent of what the player base wants does as well.

What can be and is are not same thing, those pools are public.
Real mwo players? Who are those?
Those "real" mwo players can join said discord and read what is written there and nuke the discord?

You really think if we revert back to time of TUK2 times all old players come back, nah I don't think so.

games lose players and die over time, it's normal. this isn't to say that PGI hasn't done things over the years that may have driven some people away, but there's nothing they can do at this point that will suddenly bring everyone back.

MWO is over a decade old now, a lot of people have simply moved on and wouldn't return regardless.

Those discords aren't private though, so im not really sure what you are trying to insinuate, other than something that is patently untrue.

The game is getting ongoing balancing patches. You just don't like it because 4 years ago when the game was on life support, it happened to be your choice mechs that were on the top of the abandoned rubbish pile.

WOW just WOW I can see most have never run or setup a discord server but don't worry its easy and yes, the main server is public but private rooms can be set up inside the public servers you can allow only certain players to see what is in the private room. And the private rooms do have special names for just those members to enter or the operator can pull members into rooms no one can see as well.

Plus I'm sure the Cauldron also have a private server of their own besides the public one cheers.

Well, everyone has their own opinion on MWO management and I personally think it has been horrible since year 3 to now sure games get old but if a game is managed right look at WOW it can be populated and profitable for 20+ years many games have proven this and the MechWarrior series was once populated by over a million register players in its golden days that were MechWarrior 3-4 and its expansions on the MSN gamming zone I was a Admin on the Zone and did see the actual player numbers on all 6 servers so it had its chance to be revied to this level when MWO came out and it seemed like it could of happened but bad management came along and ruined that prospect.

Are you suggesting the cauldron is private because discord has the technical ability to make private servers? Because, that is silly.

Discord servers operate using invite links. You can join a server *if you want to*. All you need is the invite. Some server admins keep their servers closed using private invite links, links that expire, etc. Others have permanent links posted publicly for anyone to join. I have joined discord servers with many thousands of members. Many times more than the MWO comp server has.

The only reason you are bringing this up is to cast into doubt the notion that the MWO comp server is open and accessible. Im literally in that server. You're allowed to join it. Its not "private", nor are the workings of the cauldron being kept secret from you.
